Prepar3D v2 Hotfix (2.5.12944.0) Released

Original is 2.74 KB the 12943 version is 2.79 KB

Hmmm ... thanks Rich, I need to check this out.  Adam did say the difference was in the .chm (12943) but did also confirm that 12944 was missing a shader change which they corrected (I don't know if they corrected before or after release, I'm guessing before).

So with that said, I've downloaded the 12944 hotfix again and will try it again tonight.

This is the approach I use:

1.  Backup my entire main Lockheed Martin folder and sub folders  (i.e. D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v2) to another drive

2.  I unzip (I use 7-zip) the Hot fix into a separate folder i.e. D:\P3DHotFix2

3.  I then select all the files and folders from that separate HotFix (D:\P3DHotFix2) and copy

4.  paste to my D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3d v2 ... when prompted I check the box to allow Replace on all ... when prompted again to Merge I check the ALL and hit Yes

Cheers, Rob.

Yay, I hope they're referring to GPUTerrain.fx Rob, as that's in 12944. :D

Thanks Rob - also probably be safe to just load 12943 then 12944 as Steve has stated then of course just let it over write incrementally  :)

So I think even though I went straight to 12944 that maybe I will install 12943 and then 12944 again. Things seem to be working fine for me, but there must be some value or improvement from 12943 too that right now I am missing then. Anyone see any problems with doing this?

Yes, if I were on 12942, I would install 12943 then 12944.

But I'm already on 12944. I went straight from whatever version 2.5 release was to 12944, skipping anything in between. Was 12942 the original release of 2.5? Or was that the first hotfix and 12944 is now the third?

12942 original release

12943 hot fix 1

12944 hot fix 2

if you log into your account and purchased downloads 12943 is the current "Full" ... I believe LM will updated that to 12944 Full soonish.

Why is it that every time i access the menu bar in game my frames leap back to where they were prior to the patch? What could be causing this do you think folks?

Very frustrating as all was well prior to the last one...

Sounds like a DX issue or perhaps a VC++ or .NET framework install issue ... have you tried getting latest .NET framework (4.5.2) and latest VC++ 2012 and 2013 and maybe even VC++ 2010 ... uninstall then re-install.

Another thing to check the unloading of any entries (via taskmgr or process explorer) in the EXE.XML ... sometimes they don't unload when you shut down P3D ... in my case GFDev (GoFlight) and UT2 (Ultimate Traffic 2) often stay in memory after a P3D shutdown.

Applied the 12944 I downloaded yesterday ... working great with ASN, PMDG 777 and 737, Orbx, Virtuali (FSDT/FB), Q400, A2A, RealAir, etc. etc. etc. ... heck even FT's Toronto loads up at a whopping 3.825 GB start with the F22 ... and that's 1024 or less textures (what were they thinking?).

Cheers, Rob.

They're emulating Microsoft Flight Simulators - release the product and let the hardware grow into it.

64bit anyone?

:)

I have P3D v2.5 but no hotfix.

Did you guys figure out if both hotfix need to be installed or can I just do the 2nd hotfix?

Yes, if you've got 12942 original release of 2.5 then install 12943 and then 12944.

The confusion came because the main DL is now at 12943, if you got that then just add 12944.
