Prepar3D v2 Hotfix (2.5.12944.0) Released

Recommended Posts

Sounds like a DX issue or perhaps a VC++ or .NET framework install issue ... have you tried getting latest .NET framework (4.5.2) and latest VC++ 2012 and 2013 and maybe even VC++ 2010 ... uninstall then re-install.

Another thing to check the unloading of any entries (via taskmgr or process explorer) in the EXE.XML ... sometimes they don't unload when you shut down P3D ... in my case GFDev (GoFlight) and UT2 (Ultimate Traffic 2) often stay in memory after a P3D shutdown

Thanks Rob, appreciate your insight..

I didn't have the C++ 2013 so downloaded that and installed... now checking DX for latest version plus all the other runtime libraries to see if there are updates...

Have a great day (or night where you are!)

Doug

Yes, if you've got 12942 original release of 2.5 then install 12943 and then 12944.

The confusion came because the main DL is now at 12943, if you got that then just add 12944.

Great, thanks, Steve!

It's actually real simple with LM install incremental from the main base installer upwards with the hot fixes till the latest one ;--)

So if you have base 1 install hot fix 2 and 3 if you have base 2 install hot fix 3 :-)

I really don't see how you can interpret the hot fixes as incremental.

My reading is that hot fix 2.5.12944.0 will update either a 2.5.12942.0 base install or a 2.5.12942.0 plus 2.5.12943.0 hotfix or a 2.5.12943.0 base install.

The fact the it's a simple copy/paste operation and that hotfix 2.5.12943.0 is no longer available would confirm that surely?

I seem to be running all my addons fine after installing full 42.0, then hotfix 43.0, then 44.0.

TrackIR is fine, and the latest ASN beta works with 44.0.

I wasn't going to bring it up again but here goes!

Sorry for the incorrect report of EZDOK not working with the latest hotfix, it works perfectly as others have pointed out.

I had a bit of a 'senior' moment when I installed the latest hotfix. Remember the leaked 'beta' hotfix that was available for a short while? I still had that in my downloads folder and inadvertently installed that instead of the officially released hotfix. This clearly caused problems and messed some things up.

I've since installed the proper version and EZDOK is working problem-free....that'll teach me!

12942 original release

12943 hot fix 1

12944 hot fix 2

I've been away for a few days doing some real flying (was a beautiful day for flying here in south UK on Saturday! Not so good Sunday..)

I have hot fix 12943 applied.

Have downloaded hot fix 12944 but not applied it yet as I don't want to break anything...

Do ASN and FSUIPC work correctly after applying 12944? If not do any of you know if they've released updates?

Thanks

Adam

Speaking of EZ-Dok, any word on when 2.0 will be official?  Looking to pick this up when it goes to official release.

Cheers, Rob.
