Development wise, I'm waiting on the shp2vec Patrick is developing on over at FSDeveloper - Hopefully I could port some custom scenery without all the hassle.

What we discovered is that the FSX shp2vec works OK. The problem lies in Flight. CVX polys won't display correctly unless the BGL is compiled without -ADDTOCELLS. This means all vectors need to be replaced in the QMID11 bounds of your content.

This can be done by importing extracted CVX shapefiles using Patrick's cvxectractor, trimming the extraction to the proper QMID11 ( in SBuilderX you can slice to QMID11, and then delete areas not needed for cell filling), then make your changes or additions within the QMID11 areas. When done, save and compile the BGL ( in SBuilder.ini make sure the "AddToCells=False" under  the [shapes] section).

This BGL should work in Flight... make sure you have FSXWorld as a dependency in the Flight Addon. This BGL will replace the vectors in the cells it touches.

OK. Thanks Dick. I'll try it out again! I think I stopped because of the error below:

"Conversion from string "" to type 'integer' is not valid"

Need to find a solution to that too!

@rhumaflappy: Just tried it out but no success. I extracted everything with CVXExtractor, imported into SBuilderX and got an exported cvx*.bgl file. Everything seems to be correct. Something is wrong with the addon - how to I organise everything so that the default FSX cvx file is replaced?

My folder structure is as follows - AddonFolder\Core\scenery\0303\scenery\cvx*.bgl

Thanks again,

Kavinda J.D  ^_^

Thanks Dick - I'm trying it out right now!

P.S. Is it me or is the Addon Builder really laggy? It's taking long to register some content..

Yes, refreshing takes a while.

@majuh: Thanks for the info! Glad it isn't just me!

@rhumbaflappy: Finally managed to get it done! Thanks for the help Dick! Some custom scenery from a raw .SHP file! What a result!!

That is a significant improvement, and would be another great uplift for Flight !

I've been waiting for new aerocaches to be added to the library but have not seen any. I have seen the candidates but not the full blown orchestration. I've collected 350 of the library and can't see anymore. I am going into withdrawal. I need more. Lots more. Can anyone please help? What is life without them? Thanks.

It sounds like the problem where some of the original 350 were not showing up, has been fixed now?  If there are no more "aerocache" related issues (other than time and resources) I would be glad to push out some more.  I have some new ones from the World I could publish.

Thanks.

Yes, they have been fixed. I eventually could see all 350 and collect them. I don't know who fixed them but God Bless their souls. I found most of the pending but you can't collect them. Yes, please do more and thank you very much.

Is there actually NOTHING to talk about???

- I thought not...

Waiting for Flight's resurrection..

Me too!

Just FYI, I never fixed the aerocaches, and I am guessing the previous problem with them randomly not showing up is still occurring.  I'm guessing that is a problem with my GFWLReplacement, but haven't had a chance to look into what it could be.
