April 8, 201511 yr I've divided up the mesh into 10 deg x 10 deg tiles, and organized them into their own continental region, so nobody has to download all of it at once. Should work fine with UTX as it is just vector data. What's MSE? Sounds interesting would it be better quality than fsgenesis ? MSE - This means Mega scenery earth photo real textures Rich Sennett
April 8, 201511 yr Sounds interesting would it be better quality than fsgenesis ? MSE - This means Mega scenery earth photo real textures MegaScenery Earth! Of course! Yes, it shouldn't interfere with MSE at all. The improved LOD will probably bring more out of MSE. I don't own FS Genesis (or FS Global), so I can't compare the quality. I made this product because I didn't want to pay for a mesh. I can tell you both FS Global 2010 and the FS Genesis world mesh use the older 90-m SRTM data, while I'm using the 30-m SRTM data that was finally given the OK for a release by the White House. Previously, 30-m SRTM data was limited to just the United States. That's 3 X more detail in each two dimensions, so 9X more data available, mathematically speaking. That doesn't mean it will "look" 9X better, but you will see an improvement from the LOD9 meshes in those two products. SRTM is limited to latitudes between 60 N and 60 S due to the inclination of the Space Shuttle's orbit, so I had to dig for additional data beyond those latitudes. I found a 30-m Canada and Scandinavia dataset, while Antarctica, Greenland, and the northern coast of Russia will be essentially LOD9, which is still a huge upgrade from the LOD6 default terrain (which is around 600 m resolution...eww). That's all for the 1.0 release. Subsequent "patches" will upgrade certain mountain ranges to LOD11 or higher. That work hasn't even begun yet. I'm just focusing on LOD10 for now. Daniel Moser

Saw your post awhile back on Reddit, glad to see you have continued development! Thanks for putting in all this time for a freeware addon. I'm looking forward to downloading it at release.
