June 25, 200520 yr Moderator Andrew, thanks for the heads up. I just had to get it and it is unbelievable :-eek The attention to detail and performance is simply stunning.Gotta go do some serious Southwest flying ;-)Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
June 25, 200520 yr So did they put in the sliders or not. Come on man, everyone is waiting. :-lol :-lolI saw the screenies for that, looks pretty good, although the road traffic needed to be increased big time. Those are some of the busiest intersections in Chicago. Also I disagree with the price-point, so I won't be buying it. I just don't think $21.50 for only one Airport is a bargain. But I understand others are willing to buy it, so good for them. It does look pretty good. Those who buy it, list your system specs and framerates so folks don't get dissapointed.Enjoy your airport,Joe Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a] CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
June 25, 200520 yr Well I cant list any frames for anything more complicated than Aerialfoundry Blue Angel which I used to fly and explore the area. (25) maxed at 25. I am flying from PVD in the PMDG 737 so I will report later. Although if you are not buying it I am not sure why you need this info? On the subject of price you cant find any new airport sceneries for less 20 bucks. There are some old ones maybe you can find. Much like you cant find many add-on airliners less than $39. It's what the market is getting. I find it pretty reasonable. I think if you dont want to pay that much you will be stuck with default airports. Hey thats your perogative and I dont fault you for that. I just feel thats the going price and Fly Tampa is well worth it. Andrew
June 25, 200520 yr I gotta ask.... What in the !#@* are you smoking? lmao... You shure this is fly tampa. I went to their website when you first posten about it and couldnt find anything on a MDW scenery. Nor can i find one today. Could you post a link to the scenery? Im dying to see it...:-kewl:-wave Chase Barnett

June 26, 200520 yr Moderator I'm really amazed as to how the sim performs with this scenery. I just landed with my PMDG-NG there and had no adverse effect to FPS (I admit I always land the NG in landing-view). But even in replay (tower view, spot plane view) it was incredibly fluid, no stutters, no slowdowns.I quit purchasing scenery about 1 or 2 years ago as most of them destroy the "rush" feeling that I experience when flying for real and most sceneries I bought in the past have unfortunatly destroyed that sensation of speed during flare/touchdown. Flytampa has done an amazing job with the performance and while I tend to monitor my FPS usually when I feel the sim is slowing down I never had to do this with KMDW.To me it's worth spending $5.00 more on a scenery that has performance and visuals at the highest current FS standards, not only visuals, and this one is certainly worth the money. I simply love it.Cheers,Petehttp://members.aol.com/pzsoulman/myhomepage/logo.gifAMD64-3400,1GB/2700DDRAM,WinXP(SP2),DirectX9.0c,Geforce6800(128MB)(Det.71.89), CH Yoke/Pedals I9-13900K, RTX 4090, DR5-6000MHZ, CORSAIR ICUE H150I ELITE, ASUS PRIME Z790-P, THERMALTAKE TOUGHPOWER GF3 1350W, WIN 11
June 26, 200520 yr I think it's great. The local neighborhood modeled is about the same size as what you get with KPVD. The textures are great, again like KPVD. I don't see a framerate hit on my machine (out of the box HP Pavilion a350n, 512 mb RAM and a 64MB nvidia card - very middle of the road machine). Beautifully detailed. I especially like some of the nice details, like the nicely modeled taxiway lights (placed on poles), and grass textures along the side of the runways and taxiways. The runway textures are the best I've seen. Personally, I love it.
June 26, 200520 yr While I do love their way with airports, I have to agree on the price. It's pushing the limit for me. Aerosoft gives you 3 airports for about $15, and they are just as nice.Todd

June 26, 200520 yr This is the best scenery I have ever purchased. I have been kicking and screaming for a MDW, but never dreamed it would be this nice. I spend a good part of my day working near MDW and this scenery is dead on. Its so cool to see a stop light that I sit at every day in the real world being modeled in FS! Thanks FlyTampa for the great work!! In window view it looks so realistic. Even the car park I park in once a month when flying out of Midway is included! Ok I'm done rambling.
