April 30, 201511 yr Agreed on the Mustang, but it't too dang slow... it's a VLJ I think technically. We need more 400+ ktas bizjets that are of HQ. September 11, 20187 yr I’ve done as you have instructed but I’m being told I can’t save the file because I need permission from the owner or administrator. Am I doing something wrong sir?

Am I doing something wrong sir? Fortunately the link in the original post is still alive and active! I used the Firefox browser and was able to download so there is something you are doing wrong on your end. Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! September 11, 20187 yr I meant the cfg file cannot be saved. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I copied and pasted the new cfg onto the original but it will not save because I need permission from the owner of the product (my guess Carenado). Hopefully they patch the H850xp soon because I wasted $50 on an aircraft that can’t climb more than 2,000 fpm under fl100-200 without stalling. 🙄
September 12, 20187 yr No need to modify the cfg or any other file to achieve the correct climb performance. Max N1 is only limited at S.L. and the limit continuously increases with altitude. E.g. at FL100 MCT = 98.6% N1 and at FL200 = 99.2% N1. Keeping 94% all they way up is simply a bad advice as it noticeable reduces the available climb thrust. Edited September 12, 20187 yr by J35OE
April 3, 20215 yr Just got this during the recent sale. Overall I really like it. The original post for the climb modification is incorrect IMO. A thrust scalar of 1.3 is far too much. The climb performance even at full power is, however, a bit weak. One reason for this is that the Hawker 850XP uses the TFE731-50BR engine which has up to 5000lbs of thrust, but the stock aircraft cfg sets a thrust of 4750lbs. Also, Carenado has a bad habit of increasing the induced drag scalar on many of their planes. On this plane they have increased it by 20% to 1.2. This setting increases the drag with angle of attack, so when you're climbing the drag is increased. There is no reason to set this above 1.0 in most circumstances. My fix for poor climb performance: 1. Change the induced_drag_scalar to 1.0 2. Change the static_thrust to 5000 Dave Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
