June 30, 200520 yr Hello all, Saw the blurb on Aerosoft's new F104 -- looked at the liveries and I could swear this is the old CS 104 with a new name? Am I wrong?Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
July 1, 200520 yr It's strange that Aerosoft dosn't mention it. You'd think they'd want to capitalize on Captain Sim's outstanding reputation for timely patches and quality technical support. billg

July 1, 200520 yr Yup, It's the old CS F-104.I would recommend that people go over to Cloud9 and check theirs out as it's newer and, IMHO, a better product with very good customer support. BTW the Cloud9 F-104 is $3 less.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
July 1, 200520 yr HiThis is just getting surreal now.I guess Mr Kok is well on his way to ruining Aerosoft like he did Lago.Troy
July 1, 200520 yr >Hi>>This is just getting surreal now.>I guess Mr Kok is well on his way to ruining Aerosoft like he>did Lago.>>TroyThat's an odd comment. I associate him with the "good" Lago, and things seem to be going well with him at Aerosoft now.As far as Aerosoft releasing the CS F104, I don't see much risk in it. It is a stable, mature product. From what I have seen, there have not been many complaints like there have been for CS's 707 and 727.Tony
July 1, 200520 yr It may be a mature product but not without it's bugs. The FD's are way below the Cloud9 offering and this statement on the Aerosoft site is just plain wrong;"All systems such as the MH-97 Autopilot, TACAN and PHI navigation system are programmed in accordance with F-104 Manuals and tested by real Starfighter pilots and engineers."As a Beta tester on the CS F-104 I know the shortcommings of the product and take exception to comments made to misslead. First off, the auto pilot is not fully functional and does not operate according to the real life F-104 manual. Same goes with the TACAN and PHI. As CS has pointed out numerous times, if it doesn't work like the real thing, it's only because it's an "entertainment" release and a lot of the systems on this plane are just that.... This being said, I just wanted to point out a better option with Cloud9 when it comes to an F-104. Their F-104 actually comes with several correct models including seperate models for both the C2 and MB ejection seats. Unless CS has done a major update that we don't know about, it's the same 20 month old release. And for more money.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
July 1, 200520 yr I appreciate the info John. Sounds like there are some issues. By mature, maybe we mean "known issues". ;) I don't have either F-104, but even before this thread, I had picked the Cloud9 one for a future purchase. I guess I am just saying it is not a disaster that Aerosoft will be distributing it. As you said, there are just better choices available.Tony
