May 31, 201511 yr So i experienced this mess up today. Yesterday everything was working fine (using Saitek Pro Yoke) and all assignments for buttons etc was perfect. Starting P3D today - BOOM, every assignment for buttons is gone. I havent touched the menus or anything since i configured it all. What the he** happened? Is there some way to get all the assignments back?
May 31, 201511 yr Interesting question. It happened to me too a couple of times with my CH Products yoke and pedals... I'm curious if there is a solution for this. Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
May 31, 201511 yr Moderator Did you unplug any USB items and replug them in? This can change the GUID which will change all your settings. This is the main reason I use FSUIPC to program all my controllers. Locate the STANDARD.XML file - it contains all your assignments. - I think it's in c:\users\you\appdata\roaming\lockheed martin\controls - but I'm not at my system to check. Look in there - see if you find your controller(s) - then look for duplicate assignments for the SAME controller - you may have one with the correct settings and a later one with the default settings. If that's the case - copy the GUID from the "newer" default section and paste it in the "old" section with the correct settings. Make a backup of the xml file first. Here is how to do it - I always export a controllers file for each aircraft and also good idea to save out a virgin version in case this happens again https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/831361 Rich Sennett
May 31, 201511 yr Moderator The problem with export/import is that it only works if the GUID is the same. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
May 31, 201511 yr Author Thanks for your replies. I now have reconfigured everything and made a backup.
May 31, 201511 yr This is where Fsuipc makes life so much easier. Plug and unplug your controllers at will and they will always work correctly, you will never lose them. Have your aircraft control profiles automatically loaded with the aircraft.
