Eaglesoft vs Reality XP

Thanks for the response, Ron. I still disagree with your requirement to pull the files. Having your product discussed on the other forum would only increase your sales, as I see it. I agree with you the refits are available from individuals, but their ability to share resources, exchange ideas and show-off what they have done is now limited. Newbies to the hobby or third-party add-ons will not be as likely to learn about this neat aspect of our hobby. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.Tony

Tony, we agree with you that Users, Eaglesoft, and RXP have all enjoyed a beneficial relationship in the past and it is unfortunate that all parties are effected by recent events. We hope it is understood that there is no "axe to grind" against RXP or Users for that matter.:-) Simple issues sometimes get "out of proportion" these days and it doesn't seem to be limited to flight simulation either:-)Our preference is to allow this issue to dwindle in the light of more important issues, and continue to move forward in development of products that users may enjoy:-)

The above post by ahuimanu may be one of the most clear, concise, and intelligent I have seen. Sorry to jump in, but I was impressed.Jeff

We agree, very well said :-)

Maybe my $.05 will be the last ... usually don't enter issues such as this but ...Asking that the "user mods" made by some realy fine, industrious, and savvy folks for the benefit of those of us who have Eaglesoft, Dreamfleet, FSD, F1, etc. products, and really don't have the time or desire to tamper with panel configs be removed from the RXP user area really is not very nice, and seems not to serve any purpose to me. I have purchased the Sandel from Ike originally, from Eaglesoft and now from RXP ... and purchase most "stuff." I modify what I want and NEVER NEVER expect support for my personal mods or other mods from the OEM (hahahaha ... original equipment manufacturer). Some forums provide the needed support or not ... but when I tamper ... it's my party.Although I respect your business decision, obviously your business, not mine .. I honestly don't see that it benefits anyone, Eaglesoft the very least. Sure, we can ask fellow simmers for the mods, but that seems to me to be a step back in time.O well .. such is business I guess in 2005.Cheers!!!! and

EDIT: TypoHi,I think this discussion is rather academic. What if I post a readme.txt on a site (any site) with instructions how to edit the Eaglesoft panel.cfg so it includes RealityXP or whatever gauge?I don't think that will be a problem since the actual panel.cfg itself is not provided.A simple cut and paste will do.

There is no prohibition for users hosting and sharing such files which are readily available for/from other users.Seems to us that users who wish to integrate would better spend their time finding/hosting/sharing those files instead of this thread:-)

Forget it. I'm getting way to wound up over this....

Amen brudda:-)

Don't get me wrong Ron, you've lost a customer, and judging by your responses in other forums, that means zip to you..oh well :-roll

Thought you were gonna let it go but ya just couldn't huh.:-)You do of course understand that just as we are under no obligation to support ANY integration of third party vendors products into ours...YOU are not now and never have been under ANY obligation to purchase any thing from us.We respect your freedom of choice to not purchase and wish you well. Now can we move along to more important issues in the world today?

>Egbert, you are correct. There is no prohibition for users>hosting and sharing such files which are readily available>for/from other users.>Seems to us that users who wish to integrate would better>spend their time finding/hosting/sharing those files instead>of this thread:-)Would that include sharing the files at a place like AVSIM, or would that be restricted to individual user's personal web pages? This is, of course, assuming the file states that it is not endorsed / supported by Eaglesoft and any person using the mods does so at their own risk.Sorry.. just want quick clarification on that.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/122152.gifEric

"There is no prohibition for users hosting and sharing such files which are readily available for/from other users."We do not object to integration files being placed where users may exchange them as long as the file states that it is not endorsed/supported by Eaglesoft and that users integrate at their own risk.We are not suggesting that users post these files in any major FS library because that is entirely the choice of FS library caretakers. However we have no objection if they choose to allow such file uploads. Now can we move along to other subjects?:-)

I applaud Mr. Hamilton's candid responses. Business is business, and this will certainly not be a deal breaker for me. I shall continue to look forward with great anticipation to Eaglesoft's releases. Now if I could just fill up that space in my hanger next to my Citation 551SP with, say, a Challenger?:-)...

... And I'm especially looking forward to that Dornier, I have the CX and love it, can't wait to see the DO. Wondering if this one will have an FMC?Jeff
