REX Textures or Water Configurator ?

Recommended Posts

I use REX Texture setup for water textures.  I also just downloaded FSX Water Configurator.  What is best ?  Use either one by itself or both together ?  If I have a saved texture set from REX, will WC overwrite them ?  Do they both use the FSX textures ?

Both together. Water Configurator doesn't install its own textures, it allows you to modify the shader settings. They do completely different things.

Does FSWC play nice with Steve's DX10 fixer?  The fact that both alter shaders has me worried a bit.

It alters but still can look better than Steve's DX10 fixer with some profiles or fine tuning. My fsx water setting is 2xLow for better FPS.

I read on their site that's it's not at all compatible with DXT10, so I am curious as to what would happen using it in DXT10 with the fixer.

imo the latest version of the DX10 fixer allows water customizations that make FSWC obsolete.
