Hi Rob (and anyone else that can assist),

I have a question related to this thread  regarding visual performance, but in order not to hijack this thread nor double post things, I wonder if you could have a quick look at the thread I started on the Lockheed Martin forum and offer any advice on the matter.

Do Alt+enter Twice in P3Dv2 (First time it goes full screen and second time it does window mode) - it look like your SLI turned off.  SLI turns off when right clicking and playing with P3D menus and opening a menu or going to menus settings etc.  By doing Alt+enter twice reactivates the second gpu.

Hope this helps

Hi Ian,

I'll re-post this here.

This is the first time I've heard of anything like this linked to engine start.  So I have no answer to that, but I can provide info relative to flickering ground textures and some things you might want to check:

1. Uncheck SimObject shadows (cast and receive)
2. Uncheck NoShadow Flagged Content
3. If you use EZDOK check clipmode (should be normal in cameras.cfg)
4. Make sure your scenery library order is correct (I usually place 3rd party airports up towards the top)
5. Check you don't have duplicate AFCAD files - can use this utility (http://www.scruffyduck.org/simple-airport-scanner/4584282795)
6. Adjust Mesh resolution settings (I like 5m to 1m, but sometimes 1m can cause issues) to see if that makes a difference
7. If it's a z-fighting issue then might require require updates from 3rd party provider
8.  Delete your shaders folder (i.e. C:\Users\Rob\AppData\Local\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\Shaders)

Cheers, Rob.

Are there any fixes in 12946 related to cloud depiction (popcorn clouds) ?

From LM's Prepar3D Forums, these are the ONLY things fixed with HF4:

- SimDirector - numerous fixes made to correct crashes and loading visualizations

- SimConnect_weatherRequestCloudState - now correctly returns the proper values in a SIMCONNECT_RECV_CLOUD_STATE structure

- Attached floating objects - corrected rendering library objects in a wrong location in relation to the boat veh_carrier01_high_detail_sm SimObject

I was wondering perhaps this SimConnect_weatherRequestCloudState  has something to do with popcorn clouds, but I guess it does not.
