737NGX has a mind of it's own!

Featured Replies

Hello, everyone!  This is my first thread/post to the forum.  I am having difficulties with the PMDG 737NGX 800.  I purchased the base package.  After I click "FLY NOW!", it loads, then it starts the 20 second countdown, but during that countdown the plane automatically starts firing up the engines at full throttle!  And it won't stop whatsoever, even when I manually put both throttle levers all the way down, and even when I shutdown the engines completely, it just keeps going and going at full throttle!  I've tried setting it to default Cold & Dark from the FMC, restarting the sim, and the problem stil persist!  Any help or suggestions are very much appreciated

Full names in the PMDG forums please.

What are the indications that the engines are "firing at full throttle" when the throttle levers are all the way down, or shut down?

Hi, downscc.  What did you mean by full names?  Well, basically the plane (engines) start firing up by themselves.  When it starts the 20 second countdown, that's when it starts going all haywire.  For example on the default FSX B737-800 when it loads, the plane stays put.  I don't touch a thing on the PMDG NGX, and it just starts increasing thrust by itself, even after that I try decreasing thrust and applying brakes and all, and it just keeps going and going.

You see Dan Downs at the bottom of his post. That is his full name. Mine is Michael Cubine and it will be at the bottom of this post.

and it just keeps going and going

What instruments indicate that "it just keeps going and going"?

Hi, Michael! :)  The airspeed indicator.  I don't understand why the plane can't stay put once it finishes loading.

Try disconnecting your joystick or throttle from your system and load it again.See if it happens again.

Airspeed?

Lets just clarify. Airspeed or thrust indication? Ignore air speed for now, focus on the upper EICAS. What do the N1 numbers say? Are they increasing up to 100%?

I have an issue with my thottle that all the off isn't 100% off, it's around 3% so the moment the sim loads I need to engage the parking break. Straight away, first thing I do, or it starts to move forward

Hey guys.  I disconnected all my Saitek panels and the yoke from my PC.  And the plane is still doing the same thing (starts increasing speed by itself and won't let me stop it whatsoever).  What can I do?  Someone please help.

Larry Canenguez

I had the same exact issue.  I wound up having to uninstall and reinstall the 737 and somehow that cleared up the issue.  Supposedly, it has something to do with panel state loading.  I found no other way to fix this except for doing what I recommended.

Hi, Jim.  Yes, I've been fighting with this for about 6 weeks now!  Did the problem ever come back?

Thanks, JIm!  I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it.  Good as new!  Hopefully I never have to go through this again, if it happens again PMDG really needs to fix it.  Thanks again.
