July 21, 201510 yr Freeware Wadi Rum photo scenery (available here at avsim) FTX Global Ultimate With the recent death of Omar Sharif I was reminded that there was a great movie that I hadn’t watched in ages: “Lawrence of Arabia”. So I watched it again and enjoyed it, the actors, the scenery and the fantastic music by Maurice Jarre. Here is a flight in a somewhat period airplane along a similar route that the soldiers under Lawrence have taken on their way to Aqaba across parts of the desert of the Wadi Rum. It was a wonderful flight in a Heinkel He-51. It’s a freeware plane that I have enhanced a bit and ported over to P3D 2.5 from FS9 We start from an unmarked sand strip in the east of the Wadi and will fly west until we’ll reach Aqaba shortly before the night falls And sometimes, when one is lucky, one can experience the desert to glow We have reached Aqaba Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
