We still DON't know it's coming. And frankly I'm happy with 9 for a long while yet.

Is there anything that people hope is NOT in the game?I alwas see threads about what people want, what about what you DO NOT want?

>>We still DON't know it's coming. And frankly I'm happy with 9>for a long while yet.Actually, we do."I recently attended the International Flight Sim Convention in Blackpool in England and had a great discussion with the head of Aces Studio on the (yet-to-be-announced) FS 10. As far as that simulation is concerned, the bottleneck is 100% the graphics card. It has always pushed the boundaries for graphics and FS 10, or whatever it is called, will do so again. MSFS is not CPU limited, it is entirely GPU and bus limited. Now, where does this fit in with Falcon? Well, the current engine relies quite heavily on the CPU still. Why didn't we rip it out and go DX 8 or even 9? Because the engine is heavily intertwined within Falcon and it would have been an impossible task given the timeframe. Stability, for starters, would have gone to pot.The next iteration of Falcon will be cutting edge in terms of the graphics engine, and we have some incredibly exciting development work already in that department. It would be great to make the simulation GPU rather than CPU dependent. For a start, it would make things a lot cheaper for users!"--------------------Best wishes,"C3PO"Publicity & MarketingLead Pursuit LLChttp://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cg...40;t=000736;p=0

Seems to me that anyone who makes a statement like "MSFS is not CPU limited, it is entirely GPU and bus limited" probably isn't the best source of information :-) .Doug

>MSFS is not CPU limited, it is entirely GPU and bus limited.Wow! This statement is quite surprising to me. From what I've read or experienced, quite the opposite is true. Are you saying that FPS on FS9 are usually limited by GPU power? Consider there are many factors (i.e. AI traffic, scenery density, a/c with complex cockpit) heavily depending on CPU rather than GPU power.Marco

If you say he's OK that's good enough for me. Maybe he's just old like me and also gets easily confused when it comes to the inner workings of MSFS :-) .Doug

I definitely don't want to see stutters (the graphics and the audio kind). We have FS9 for that.

Screwy ATC? Heheh, if you want that, try VATSIM!Look at my Sig, this is intended as a Joke :)

...I dont want to see where they havent fixed the reverse thrust problem. Remember how we used to be able to do "power backs" with reverse thrust? Now it just sits there.

Two days after the FS10 release, some anxious person will post a "FS10 is Good, but What Do You Want To See In FS11???" thread. THAT is what I don't want to see.Bring on FS10/but FS9 suits me fine-JeremyThe Ozark DogfighterHappy Flying!
