I just re-installed my Vnukovo (UUWW) scenery and I am getting what looks like helicopter pads on all my parking areas,

Any idea what texture is responsible and how I can remove them?

Many Russian sceneries over-write the default helicopter parking pads with what you see there, which represent (reasonably accurately) aircraft parking locations as they are at Russian airports.

 

If you reinstate the original files you will get proper default helicopter pads with great big white crosses etc.all over this airport.

 

But of course modifying default files to make some airports look more real can mess up others up completely.

just out of interest - which UUWW scenery is that? And if you write "all my parking areas" - do you mean at any airport?

 

I can only suggest to install complex scenery add-ons in a sandbox first. You will be able to check which stock files are changed and to avoid unwanted modifications.

It is just the UUWW scenery that presents this problem.

 

I had loaded the scenery manually so I'm sure no default textures were overwritten.

 

it is a rather old version of UUWW. For some reason, the newer versions would not load in properly.

 

I'm running Windows 8, by the way, and have loaded numerous complex scenery without any problem.

Well, I gave up in the end.

 

I managed to find a much more detailed UUWW VNUKOVO (Moscow) Aeroflot hub however.

 

Easy manual install and works well.

My new avatar shows me with my old 500 (1973). The photo is recent as I had an unexpected visit from the present owner (I sold it to him in 2006).

 

He just turned up to show me it was still going strong and practically unchanged. Good to know.

 

I like the new models very much and was thinking of getting the air-cool engine model.

your new UUWW scenery is the one I would have suggested to you. Glad you like it. However, while the quality of the scenery is out of question (some afcad adjustions needed to get aircraft of Rossiya State Company in front of Vnukovo-2 though), one can debate about the architecture for sure.

 

Nice car by the way. I'm thinking of getting another Fiat derivate from its country of origin, a Lada 1500 or 1600...

This is a slightly revised (with ADE) afcad file containing some more parking ramps in front of Vnukovo-2. It's initially thought to give parking space for Rossiya State Company planes, but sometimes other planes park there, too.
