September 2, 201510 yr Much better cirrus (and stratus) clouds. Cumulus clouds instead are simpler and only 2D (non volumetric), and for this reason have basically zero impact on FPS. Nice terrain textures and lighting. Very high FPS at max detail (of course this corresponds to lower rendering settings in v10). Max visibility is limited to 25 miles: Nice night lighing. Very good urban light nighting (among the best of any sim) but only at altitude: "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
September 2, 201510 yr Moderator Thanks for the shots. v9 was a really good sim and I used to get great frame rates with it, even on a old PowerPC mac.
September 2, 201510 yr Obviously there's a price to pay for more detail...but 10 looks so much better hehe (imo) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 3, 201510 yr Long time no see ... Thx Murmur for the memmories :-) I never bought XP9, but used the demo extensively. I remember that update which turned torque-roll into what we have today :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
September 3, 201510 yr Lol, the torque bug. I habe re installed XP9 while ago, but once you have tasted XPX there's no was back.
September 3, 201510 yr Yes, the pluses, even with the so called "torque bug" more than compensate :-) I am really enjoying X-Plane 10 again, this turn around the D/L edition, from LR :-) Of course having a 4GB GTX 960 helps a LOT!
