Screen Capture

Featured Replies

Hello,

Wondering if there is a way to automatically save screen captures as hi-res jpg and not bmp?

Cheers...

Use a screenshot program and not the default screenshot command.

Bandicam is usually pretty good. The demo/trial has unlimited time (only a 10 minute recording limit), so you don't have to buy it.

Which doesn't have a lot to do with making a screenshot . You might as well name FS Recorder as well because that is free ( but again used for filming not screenshots ) .

Surely the software supplied with your card whether ATI or nVidia do have this function where you can choose between bmp , jpeg or png .

AShampoo make an excellent product called Snap 8, it captures windows, parts, scrolls saves to pdf, jpg, add text, cut and paste to any document, captures video. I've been using since it's initial release as Snap 7. Highly recommend it.

Just open the .bmp in windows paint and save as a JPEG.

That's just too much bloody work! Grabber2k* has been my capture program of choice for over ten years now. Push Print Screen key. Done. Will save an infinite number of named image files to a folder of your choice.
