I'm on vacation and can't wait to get home to try v3. I would like to know if any1 can confirm that the best (and only?) force feedback stick still works with P3Dv3? If not I need to order a new stick/yoke asap.

That's great news! I'm really addicted to the force feedback, but it seems noone makes it anymore.

Its the best joystick ever made. Period!

 

I have owned a few of them.

I got my current one NIB a couple of years ago

for about $50.

 

I should think about trying to find another one

NIB to keep aside for the future.

 

I doubt it will ever be surpassed!

Just note that force feedback currently does not work in V3 - there is no FF tab (it worked fine in 2.5). This was confirmed on the P3D forums, and I hope this was just a massive (and temporary) oversight:

Unfortunately, at the moment Prepar3D v3 does not currently support force feedback, however XBox 360/One controller rumble is still supported.

Ouch.. without FF the Sidewinder is not worth much. With FF it's by far the best stick I've ever used. I might have to get a replacement then. A joystick without FF is gonna take a long time getting used to. Whatever weather I fly in it will always feel the same.. goodbye wind gusts and turbulence, runway rumble, flaps and landing gear thumps etc.

Can FS-Force solve this?

FS Force does not work in P3D at the moment either. Russel Dirks, the developer is looking at updating the software. FS Force was the second addon I bought after FSUIPC. It is miles ahead of the default forces. The trim is amazing. Once he gets it right, I would urge anyone with a force feedback controller to make the reasonable purchase. I am not affiliated nor am I a shill. It just works really well.

That's great news. I used fs force in 2.5.

 

I encourage any1 who has not tried the MSFF2 to get one from eBay. It adds another level of immersion that you cannot get from any other device that I know of.

Sorry about the misinformation. I have to confess that my MS Force Feedback 2 has been sitting on a shelf gathering dust for several months and I only used it breifly in the default flight. The very smooth centering force is there and stick feels very good but as everyone else has pointed out there are in fact no effect forces. I doubt LM will add FF back into the sim since there is an addon for it. I have been sitting on the shelf for a long time on

Russel Dirks FS-Force but now I guess its going to be my first addon purchase for V3.

With a force feedback joystick, you won't regret it.

There is a Force tab in V3.
