November 25, 201510 yr ....Phoenix, Sky Harbor, to Flint-Bishop, Michigan (KFNT) Northwest flight 192 direct Plane free-ware from off of the .org.... I had only until this time, been flying B.I. flights from FS9, but I am having such a blast with XPX.41...and with all the great scenery I actually have within the sim, I decided to 'expand' my Big Iron horizons....so...here we go... ----------------------------------------------------------------------
November 25, 201510 yr Author Just a few more, enroute... Grand Canyon, 19,000 feet below...("...no smoking within the aircraft...go sit out upon a wing, if you want a better view..."...) The flight had these 'burned in', set n' forget sim settings in play. I took a few months, to work all permutations of the settings, and for my visual needs, the sim will run under these shown settings. I can live with any FPS reading between 15 to infinity. XPX.41 allows for that, I find. 28 FPS and better, I certainly won't turn down (smile!) ...but neither will I walk away from the sim at 15 FPS for the times it goes to that figure briefly, considering what I am asking my system/XPX.41 to render.
November 25, 201510 yr Beautiful shots. November 25, 201510 yr Author Thanks, guys...I now feel the neeeeed for Big Iron speeeeeeeeeeeeed, within XPX.41...what a BLAST!
November 25, 201510 yr Awesome pics! Those ground textures look very good. I'm still learning XP10 and would love to have crisp ground textures. But, I can't find a tutorial on what to download, what to install, and what are the best settings. Jose MSFS

Jose Jose...as a suggestion, try my sim settings as you see here...and then go to Phoenix Sky Harbor. Take a taxi tour around the airport property,..and see if you can get what you would like. What you see here, in all these shots...is with the sim set to the above...nothing was changed in-session. From ready for push-back, to shutting down the blades at KFNT. Post Edit,: I think you might have meant terrain textures, rather than airport textures....duh...sorry...yes, just use my settings, and see where that gets you, Jose!

In these screenshots you're using a very simple freeware aircraft with only a 2D panel -- do you get the same FPS (with these rendering settings) also with, say, the A330, the 777 or the A350? Hi Mario, I don't have yet, a fully-system 3D cockpit in Big Iron, for the XP franchise. I do have though for such as the Callenger, biz jets, of which I have already posted, and can get +3/-3 fps in this range. I don't think at this time, that I will get into system intensive Big Iron for XP. I usually keep that for FS9, of which as you know, on any high-end computer system, performance is never going to be an issue with system-intensive renderings. There are some really good 3D cockpits with what I would call, normal/useful instrument and sub system renderings, from off of the Org...and for my Big Iron ventures within XP...will be certainly good enough for my use-expectations. For XP...I like G.A general, and Business Class G.A. You might want to ask someone who does have a 3rdP full-immersive 3D cockpit sled, to post the same trip at Trees: Tree Hugger Objects: Extreme, and Roads: Extreme, or just set up his/her settings to match mine...and then keep the FPS counter in view on all shots. That would probably give you some sort of idea of what running a plane with that sort of cockpit, at my settings, would produce in FPS, in a weighted, general reading average. But...having said that, if a prospective user doesn't need to have every system up and running, but the basics for Big Iron flight,...and would finally as the end result, after all proper procedures and checklist work-through's , like to see themselves up at cruise altitude, with some really great scenery renderings at 360 degrees around them, while,.... at my posted FPS readings, per shot,.......then Bob's your man! I show that it can be done....with a system to system 'apples to apples' viewpoint. Hope that helps! Mitch
