December 14, 201510 yr Author For any users of ES Isle of Man, it's worth noting that you can download a couple of additional scenery packages for this (by Tony Meredith) at the following website address... http://www.arm-computers.co.uk/FullScenery/TonyMeredith/tonymeredith.html Look for Isle of Man - Bungalow Helipad and Lang Ness/Scarlett Point/Chicken Rock Light etc. Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester
December 14, 201510 yr Thanks for the link Christopher. I just made my purchase of the Isl of Man. I picked the slow post, but still hope to have it by Friday.
December 15, 201510 yr Got my DVDs today. Installing into v3 as I type. Fingers crossed. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
December 15, 201510 yr Very good Dean, I will be following your posts. I to hope to get my copy by Friday. Keep us posted:)
December 16, 201510 yr I recommend treescapes in P3D v3, works very well though I think I added the folders manually or possibly copied the autogen files directly into the photoscenery folders. I note that Flightstore still has these on sale. Best autogen tree product (better than Open VFR or NuVecta, both of which I also like). Never got my treescapes scotland south, though - bought it just before the sad demise of ES and wasn't able to download :( Anyone know where you can get a copy of Shawbury Field? I've always wanted to try that one out. Darren and Vicki should pop in here some time - I hope they'd be pleased to see how fondly their work is remembered. December 16, 201510 yr Yes, I did note in my post that Flightstore has treescapes - I checked out their inventory immediately before posting - but they don't have Shawbury field. December 16, 201510 yr I spent most of today trying to get this IOM DVD into P3D V3 without luck. It's a combination of an old ESI installer, that will not update, and the inability to extract the compressed files. This is even before I can attempt to insert it into P3D. Anyone who can offer some pointers would be most appreciated. Tutorial anywhere? - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
December 16, 201510 yr Dean, I've never used the DVD installer so am shooting blind here, is there any way you can point it to your P3D install folder? Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
December 17, 201510 yr Do you have the installer dated 21/12/14 - it includes a P3D specific installer, but it's for V2 before they changed all the install folders Cheers Keith ...
December 17, 201510 yr Keith, the ESInsaller is shown as 2.4 (2013-09-03) Is it even possible to get an updated ESI now ES are no more? - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
December 17, 201510 yr Author This is why so many of us prefer being able to manually install addon scenery packages. The ability to access the folders directly would allow someone like me to show you exactly where to put everything! December 17, 201510 yr There could be an awkward workaround - for those with 2.5, the latest ESI installer will install into that. Then, Chris can advise where to manually find relevant files, folders and cfg entries? Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
December 17, 201510 yr Lot of good information and links in this thread http://www.avsim.com/topic/460430-installation-of-earth-simulations-isle-of-man-boxed-edition/page-3 I think you'll find the installer at Tony's site, but he suggests you shouldn't need it. Cheers Keith ...
December 17, 201510 yr For situations like this, I normally just use a folder which I keep both FSX and Prepar3D .exe files in, but nothing else. I imagine the ES products would install using this method? As there's no other files or folders, I can easily see after the installation which files the product has tried to add and the structure via which they've been added - and then move them to P3D as appropriate.
