December 16, 201510 yr The plane will of course be payware, a 4 man-team has spent the majority of their free time over the last 5 years on this. Lena asked about the economics behind making add-ons like these - the profit is very slim and delivering newspaper would have yielded a better income/hour, even if every X-Plane user buys a copy. But this is mostly a labor of love, and we are very proud of what we have achieved so far, even if most of the aircrafts finer features will be lost for the majority of our users. It will be a realistic and serious nuts-n-bolts simulation of the 737-300, and you would need to be a type-rated pilot to fully appreciate the depth of the system simulation. Jan - I've been avidly waiting for this add-on for a while now, and I've followed every one of the IXEG team's videos on YouTube. Did I say it's very pleasant to listen to your German-accented English? The plane is beautiful and a work of art, really. I look forward to paying for it and flying it. Just one question - I noticed the fire alarm button is slightly lopsided (while watching your Engine Fire videos) - is it meant to be that way?
December 16, 201510 yr The NGX for FSX has the same crooked button. Must be something about the 737 that makes it that way.

We are working hard to not disappoint you, and I would like to draw your attention to the list of "things that will not be in V1.0" - it´s available in our dedicated forum, and will be updated as warranted (hopefully just scratching things off the list!). We don´t want anyone to "buy the cat in the bag", as we say here in Germany  . The fire button and the master warning buttons are not totally fixed, they can be rotated slightly and will do so whenever you push them. It´s a great way to judge the pilot sitting next to you - if he (or she) constantly fiddles with those buttons to make them REALLY STRAIGHT again, you know what kind of person you are dealing with and better fly that ILS ON THE DOT or you will hear about it! Cheers, Jan

Cheers, Jan i have a slight hunch, that you are calling out a very specific lufthansa pilot here oddly specific
December 16, 201510 yr Jan, I am very impress for the achievement, the team really deserve to get remuneration for such product. The only aspect that you should think really close, is that if you release the aircraft with the promise list and you will take another year or so you will get in trouble. For me flying on network those missed future are really important, FMC feature and most important the TCAS (maybe using 3rd party). But I will invest in a team that did this incredible journey, to bring my beloved aircraft, that remember me when I start to use the wilco long time ago. I hope that you can finish the list ASAP. Thank you
December 16, 201510 yr The only time I felt like flying a tube liner was after watching the LFMN video. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

Thank you Please point me to the passage where I said that we will add the missing feature within a specified time frame? Can you also show me the promise list? We are most certainly not getting into any trouble, even if we don´t finish a single item of the things I listed, don´t worry about that. Oh, and if TCAS is the most important thing for you when flying online, then I suggest to work on your flying skills... Please do me a favour and don´t buy this airplane until we say that TCAS is ready, I want to save myself the "trouble". Jan Edit: I don´t want to come across too harsh, but this post has just irked me. Considering that the posters first language is most likely not english (neither for me) it might have sounded a bit different than it was intended. What gets me everytime is that people think they are entitled to some feature. It also gets me that they like to read stuff like "promise" or "guarantee" into what I write, when I try to be very careful with the way I word stuff. And it makes me even more frustrated when we try to be upfront with the community, providing a very transparent list of missing features we (still) lack, only to STILL get this turned around on us. I think some people rather buy a product with an impressive feature list that is in reality missing a lot of things, than a product with a small "missing feature" list that still has a lot of things... humans, I guess.
December 16, 201510 yr Well all this TCAS talking with the MD80 and the IXEG got me thinking: Which plane actually has a fully working TCAS that is used for online flying? And i mean the real TCAS like you see in a PMDG plane or the PSX 747. Not just the Traffic Callout with no evasive action suggestion, but the full blown system
December 16, 201510 yr I don't think we have a single aircraft with fully working TCAS for X-Plane. Addon developers seem to agree that, due to how X-Plane is coded, fully working TCAS is really hard to make. Personally, if you think how much time would have to be spend on this single feature and how rare it is actually "used", then I much prefer devs to focus on much more pragmatic systems.

December 18, 201510 yr But this is mostly a labor of love, ... And that's what I like most in the XP community ... the spirit and the labor of love. It is a bit like in the "glorious" days of FS9 - with FSX came the commercialisation, but the "heart and soul" for flying got somewhat lost. My sceneries (excerpt): LPMA Madeira (XPFR), LGSR Santorini, LRBV Brasov, the city of Fürth (Germany), several libraries, ...
