Southern California – Big Bear City to Santa Barbara

Starting from Big Bear City (L35) the route proceeds to Apple Valley (KAPV) and then crossing the southern edge of the Mojave Desert to Agua Dulce (L70) From there we fly 38nm north to land at Tehachapi Municipal (KTSP), then continuing 34nm to the northwest and climbing over the southern end of the Sierra Nevada and over Lake Isabella we arrive at Kern Valley (L05). Turning southwest, following the Kern River canyon before landing at Bakersfield Municipal (L45). Continuing to the southwest we fly over southern San Joaquin Valley to Taft Kern County (L17) and then on to New Cuayama (L88). Our route continues 38nm to the west over Los Padres National Forest to our next stop at Santa Maria (KSMX), then turns south to Lompoc (KLPC).   Next we fly over the Santa Barbara wine region of the Santa Ynez valley to land at Santa Ynez (KIZA) before our final landing at Santa Barbara (KSBA).

The route is 321nm and a relatively fast (200 knts cruise) GA plane is recommended.  The RealAir Legacy or Duke would be good choices but as always you are free to fly what you like.

Gents. Is it correct these flights can only be joined in FSX and not P3D V3?

So far, yes. If P3D becomes the norm I'll get another copy and run a dedicated server. But until the majority/all of our chaps make the change FSX it is.

Damned sight easier to join FSX multiplayer!

In fact, I've been meaning to ask, why use FSX multiplayer server and not something like an FSHost server which would allow all flightsims regardless of versions?

The built-in multiplayer is so much easier to use, compared to all the port settings and/or VPN use that is necessary for FSHost.

However, my FSHost server is up all the time, so if we want to have a P3D/Steam multiplayer session in parallell for those of us who have evolved past the old FSX we can

At least for the race team members, since most already have the VPN set up.

Yeah, some of us haven't "evolved" and are still stuck in the dark ages.  Jeez!  :Hmmmph:
