How does the DF Baron compares to the default Baron ?

Just bought the lite version, very impressive. The panel is precisely what we would expect and I like the way the subpanels were integrated into the main without the need for icons anywhere, preserving the photoreal look. The use of left and right clicks to turn knobs as required takes some getting used to, but is actually very nice once you do get used to it, though I wish they wouldn't have done the throttles that way. ;)The panel integrates well into the VC which is superbly detailed in its own right, we really wouldn't expect less from Dreamfleet. The exterior model is ab-fab. I like all the options available to the user with a few quick clicks (where would we be without XML?), very nice touch. All dimensions and shapes look to be in order, and it runs pretty well, too.Handles like a dream, but I have no idea how the real one handles so I can't comment, though I haven't heard anything unfavourable from friends who fly Barons, so, that should say enough. ;)The sounds are kinda meh, to be quite honest. I like the option of headset or no headset, the problem is that at high RPM the engines sound less like a Continental and more like a Lycoming, and at idle sound a little default, though I could be wrong. The transitions also felt a little jumpy for my tastes. I admit to being a little picky about sounds, so I used the ones that Daniel Sallee and I made, which he recorded off a Baron that he flies, which suits my preferences perfectly.Overall - very much worth it - two thumbs up from here. ;)

I found what I was missing is the fact that this plane also has overhead lights in the cabin which was the problem I was having. This plane has so many great features. I really like this plane however, still learning how to use the XP EHSI. Seems to me that you cant change the heading bug or course with a goflight mcp and can only do so my clicking on the screen over those knobs. Anyone know a work around for this and or a way to use hardware to control these knobs?Kilstorm

On the RealityXP forum you can read about this issue and workaround. In the panel folder for the Dreamfleet Baron 58 RXP you will find a file called "RXPSandel.cfg" which you can open with notepad and change this setting: "FsMaster=Off" to: "FsMaster=On" and save then close. When this is enabled the MSFS default key presses will allow you to move the heading bug and course settings in the RealityXP Sandel SN3308, which will allow the goflight mcp (or ACP Compact which I use) to also work. The only caveat is the VOR2 indicator will also be slaved to the VOR1 course setting and no longer independently adjustable, a small price to pay for compatibility. A big thank you to Jean-Luc for programming the newest version for this workaround.
