September 28, 200520 yr I hope in the near future someone does like Carenado's 182 and release a livery for the DF Baron that's the same as the default in FS9. I would love to see how that livery would look on the DF version. I was surfing the net and found a pic of a real Baron with FS9's default livery (different tail number I would guess). I'm sure this livery existed well before FS9's version but it looks cool on the real bird... :-) http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/128401.jpg FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
September 28, 200520 yr I agree! I flew a lot of hours in the default Baron, and grew to like its paintjob. I decided to try to paint it for the DF verison, here is what I have so far: http://img316.imageshack.us/img316/8176/baron12iz.jpgI'll try to fix it up and upload it soon.
September 28, 200520 yr I already own the Reality XP GNS 530, weather radar, and the new Sandel GPWS guage, so is it worth buying the full version of this plane or should I save some $$ and buy the lite version since I already have most of the avionics that come with the full version?I guess what I am asking is, do i really need the full version if I already own many of the guages that come with the full version? Would this be redundent? Thanks,Scott
September 28, 200520 yr Looks great Mike can you post some more screenshots???What do you think of the paint in the above photo especially the lines on the engines? I can give you the link where I got the pic above if you want more photos for reference of the real bird...I love your effort, just like I thought it looks great on the DreamFleet Baron... September 29, 200520 yr Not to highjack the thread, but I am curious... If anyone has the Aeroworx B200, how would you compare this plane to the DF Baron... Flight model, VC, etc...I'm trying to decide which one to get... Please only reply if you own both planes. Thanks.

What have flying Jets to do with how you are going to>like the Baron? BTW I have flown Jets fairly recently.Hi,I have both the Aeroworx B200 and the new DF Baron. These are quite different aircraft, the B200 being a fast, high altitude, turboprop twin with a pressurized cabin. As you might expect, the B200's start procedures and systems are more complex than the Baron. The Baron is a great small twin, but is not pressurized and is usually flown at 10,000 ft or less. It requires control of the prop pitch and the mixture, and is quite easy to fly by hand or with the autopilot. Both aircraft have excellent flight models, but I judge the Baron's to be the most realistic. I also really like the Baron's ability to turn the VC (and other options) on or off in mid-flight to improve frame rates - handy if you encounter heavy clouds enroute.Regarding the jets vs piston engine, I'm guessing he is referring to flying lower and therefore seeing more scenery?Dale Dale

I deduced the reg number from that photo and found the shots of that particular Baron, and a few more also. I've modified what I've done previously to match that aircraft, as I only had the default textures as reference before. It seems the stripes are more green than teal on the real aircraft, but I kept it in the teal color as a compromise to the default Baron; I might change it though. Here are some more shots with the new changes:http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/631/baron16sg.jpgThis shot may be slow to load.http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/6229/baron28ca.jpgThanks again,

September 29, 200520 yr I much prefer the B200. It's really quite something. I'm afraid I didn't like the Baron. The pitch seemed very sensitive to me and some of the gauges aren't quite so sharp. But thanks to Dreamfleet/Flight1's excellent try-before-you-buy system I was able to send it back. Now of course plenty of people love the Baron, and that's fine, but as far as I'm concerned the Aeroworx product is superior.Ian
September 29, 200520 yr "Both aircraft have excellent flight models, but I judge the Baron's to be the most realistic."Dale--"The pitch seemed very sensitive to me"Ian--Wow Lou these are just two but the many diverse opinions concerning the flight model of the Baron is truly amazing. The comment from Ian is something I never thought I'd read from anyone about this release...:-hmmm FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
September 29, 200520 yr My problems as far as pitch is concerned may partly have been down to controller inputs, as different aircraft seem to need different sensitivity settings and I spent quite a while trying to set up my yoke properly. Having said that, compared to something like the Flight1 C172 or indeed the B200 it does seem less stable. Incidentally I thought the same about the DF Archer and the C310 - both of which are nevertheless excellent addons which I've enjoyed a lot. Now before everyone starts I've only flown Piper Warriors for real so I don't know what a real Baron feels like. And I'm sure the FM is right, since real Baron pilots here have said so. However on MY machine with MY controller it didn't feel as stable as I thought it would be, plus there were other issues with it that I wasn't keen on. But I'm pleased for Lou and his team that so many people think otherwise.Best wishesIan
September 29, 200520 yr Author The Baron is very stable and easy to trim for me, so it may be an individual controler issue. I would say it is more stable than the B200 for me, but I enjoy both aircraft. For me, the Baron is a little easier on frame rates. I wouldn't give up either the Baron or the B200. I will be flying the Baron a lot more just because it better fits the kind of flying I do.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
September 29, 200520 yr The Baron is one of the best flight sim trimming aircraft I have flown. Beyond that-I do fly a real Baron-and the Dreamfleet is very realistic. It is very stable in real life, and also in this version.I have had the trimming problems with other aircraft but not this one.I would suspect controller differences-which is the area that I think needs to be addressed more than anything in flight simming now-better controls!http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
