Tropicalsim KDAB

I dont know much of this company so I am wondering if anyone has purchased there KDAB or maybe some of there other sceneries. I think Daytona looks great with the track around it. I wonder what the frame hit will be though. If anyone can offer up an opinion that would be great. Thanks

Andrew

I have a couple of their Brazil Scenery packages - like it very much.I'll have to see more about KDAB - but that is perhaps the single most disappointing airport in FS to me. Yes I'm a NASCAR nut - but the Daytona International Speedway literally overwhelms the airport - and there is absolutely nothing in FS.It's like Paris without the Eiffel Tower, Rome without the Coliseum, New York without the Statue of Liberty.

Andrew it's a safe bet you can trust these guys to deliver. I have so much of their work it's crazy... They have yet to let me down when it comes to scenery design... :-)

I live about 2 miles south of the threshold of RWY 34 at KDAB. Its about bloody time someone did DAB! It looks pretty spot on with the real one too.

Been always curious about their Key West scenery. What's your impressions if you have it? Good framerates? Nice representation?

You can't beat Tropicalsim's Key West... :-) I will say Tropicalsim's Kingston airport left a little to be desired because the airport destroying much of the surrounding autogen. Seeing where Kingston Intl. sits, you need as much autogen as possible on the sparse land to get anything remotely as to what you get in the real world. There's green trees and bushes around that airport that Tropicalsim overwrote...

I have a few of their Caribbean sceneries and they do good work. Some of the sceneries I have are........ Key WestOwen Roberts Int. (Cayman Islands)AntiguaBelize (MZBZ)Marsh Harbour, Bahamas (This one they gave away as freeware. fsb-myam-fs2004avsim.zip)

Thanks for the reply's. Like I said in my original message the way the airport looks with the track is awesome. It really is right there at the airport. I remember seeing Air Force One with Reagan landing in the background when Richard Petty won his 200th race. That was cool.

Andrew

Anyone else?

Andrew

How are framerates? Daytona is a great airport with the track and Embry Riddle there, but I am worried about performance with all those objects.

Same here. Are Frames more like Simflyers or Fly tampa?Kilstorm

Just flew into DAB using the PMDG 738. I have a 3.2 P4 with 1GB RAM and a ATI 9800Pro card. Frames where around 20-22 for me (that is with ASV running, SB3 running and all sliders to the right in FS9.1). Better than Simflyers and just about on par with Fly-Tampa's stuff.
