Thinking of a DC-9......Maddog or SkySim's?

Rick,

Can you tell me if this Special Offer V2.1 Sky Sim DC-9 includes the liveries shown in the screenshots on the JustFlight product page? Previous versions only installed the Douglas house liveries and I had great difficulty getting the addon liveries from SkySim's website to install.

Would be willing to take a chance on this new version if I knew the TWA twin globes and SAS old colors liveries shown would be there automatically on initial installation without a headache.

Thanks,

John

Hi John

Oddly enough when I installed that Just Flight package, there is every variant of the DC-9 but only the House Repaints got installed. Precisely, why I asked for help here. I too had to get the other real-life Repaints from Sky Sim's site and I'm a bit hacked off that the advert shows the other Repaints but is not included in the package.

Coolsky MD-80 works fine in 3.2. Just the VNAV bug persists

For 21€, it was very hard for me to resist, so I bought the SkySimulations DC-9. Thanks for the heads-up on the JF offer.

Saves me few hundred ir thousand hours of development work.

Rick,

Those particular upgraded liveries shown on the JustFlight page aren't even available for download at the Sky Simulations site...only the previously available liveries from earlier versions of the DC-9. And I was never even able to get those installed. Had to ask their support help to send me a special installer for the liveries I wanted.

Sloppy way to market a product. So I won't be buying this new version after all.

Thanks for your warning.

John

The installer installs the liveries to "C:\Sims\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\SimObjects\Airplanes". Find the textures and aircraft.cfg entries there and then move the paints to the proper folders. An oversight from the devs, I guess.

No idea about the "pre livery tool" though. It points to the correct FSX folder, but doesn't seem to install anything at all.

I have the Leonardo MD80 working in P3DV3. It required some plating around with migration tool but now this is even not required and it loads on its own without intervention. It is one of my favourites even with its older graphics.

Really? What about night lightning? And white textures?

Everything works.

CoolSky is the way to go. I was a test pilot their DC9 and I made sure it performed by the numbers. We used the flight manual and performance manual to capture every aspect of behavior and performance of the 9
