Captain Sim C-130: On Final or .... not?

Featured Replies

Interesting thread now?

Yes, very. The company has improved its programming skills. But not its customer relations. When is that 707 patch coming, I wonder? Or is the almost-brilliance of the C-130 going to be allowed to overshadow HOW these people do business?Money up front before you get the product? No refund policy? No technical support forum? Calling beta testers liars in public? In this business? I don't think anything has changed. I'll buy the C-130 when they open their own forum, and I can get my money back on the 707 which has never worked correctly, and was never complete to begin with. That will be never then.Allcott

Who else operates a monery back policy except Flight 1? If you restrict your purchases to companies that provide forums then that's your choice, but it will be a restricting choice. I have software in other fields that have no associated forums. It's not a given that a company should have a forum. The main point however is that your and a few others negativity is tiresome and petty to many. Look at the nuimber of comments asking for some constructive critiscism about CS products. And what do we get but childish name calling etc. And what about the pre release reviews. look at this one from somewhere in this thread: "I was on the beta team so I know it means the 707 all over again."This person claims to know what the product is going to be like before it was released.....he knows.......!

Running a forum takes a lot of time, the moderatoring of the forums to prevent the unfair comment popping up on the forums takes a lot of time. I think by then it is better not to have a forum running and spending the saved time at the products. When being polite you will get an answer of Captain sim on your e-mails. But people shouting arround comments on several forums, wouldn't get an answewr from me either. So I expect CS will not answer this kind of peoples e-mails. Be honest, did anyone with the critism mailed CS about this on a polite way? I think a very few might have done this. Tha majority started shouting arround their critism on CS before the C-130 was released. Yes I was in the first beta team, received the beta version on August 13th.No I am not being paid by CS ;-) but I think they deserve an honest chance to show they do care about loyal custumers. Don't take this post wrong, I am not saying the C-130 is 100% perfect,(it isn't) but none of the FS products I have is 100% perfect and will never be either. The levelD 767 has been patched/updated for the second time now, the PMDG 747 has an interm update and is awaiting a major update. Nothing wrong with this I think. This is showing they listen to the complains, reports, and suggestions they get. So does CS.Start being polite to CS and you will be treated polite is my opinion. When you are being approached rude and agressively, you will start defending yourselves immediately. The same is a company doing when attacked rude. Even if the actual comment is fair and the truth, but it is depending on the way your message is being received.Lets be a little friendly to eachother, there is enought war on the world!

Here... direct from Captain Sim's main page this morning:------------------------'Legendary C-130': The Final CountdownAfter more than 3 years of development and an extensive beta test, Captain Sim is pleased to announce that the most advanced PC based C-130 'Hercules' simulation is ready for release!------------------------Hooray!!! Or.... maybe not?Browsing to the 'main' Legendary C-130 page, we find this little tidbit of marketing information:------------------------Today we will upload the 'Legendary C-130' version 1.0 package to our servers, and if final testing goes smoothly, you can expect the 'Legendary C-130' expansion for MSFS 2004 release very soon. The Captain Sim Team------------------------I'm not sure what they mean by "final testing", but I'm hoping they mean that they want to test the purchasing scripts. The "very soon" blurb is also of interest, if only for its abstract qualities. :)Maybe we'll see it today, CapSim fans; only time will tell. In other news related to the imminent C-130 release, fans will learn that there are now TWO (2) Legendary C-130 packages: a 'Standard' and a 'Pro' version (US$51.30 and US$41.30 respectively). More information here: http://www.captainsim.com/products/c130/compare.htmlBut wait! That's not all! ------------------------------The following C-130 Models are in development and will be available as separate commercial expansions to the 'Legendary C-130' package: C-130H - French AF - Japan AF KC-130 (tanker) - US Marines (grey camo) C-130T (with JATO) - US NAVY Blue Angels (Fat Albert) C-130H-30 (stretched version) - Dutch AF L-100 - UN C-130A (3-blade props) - USAF (60-s bare metal) C-130J (6-blade props) - RAF (current grey) LC-130H (on skis) - US NAVY (polar) NC-130H (AEW&C) - US Space Command CL-130 (on floats) - US Coast Guard Price to be announced. Stand by for updates.------------------------------I wonder if they'll charge by the prop blade or 'per float' with some of the above variants. Nevertheless, Herk pilots... stay tuned for more seat-of-your-pants turboprop marketing throughout the day (or week, or month, or more); we might just see this bird flying "very soon". :)

>Hi ,>>arent you that ugly she-male ?>>what are you doing here no one likes you>>go hang out with you gay friends or somethingBen, you obviously need to either stop reading the forum, or take some lessons in on-line etiquette. Your ugly personal attacks are really over the top and have no business in a public forum dedicated to discuss Flight Simulation, and in this thread, the CS C-130 in particular!Pete S.
