the auto throttle system sets TOGA power simply by arming it at the gate

Actually, in the 300, this is correct behavior. The Classic was not an NGX.

xplane includes a default standard autopilot, but this will not fit complex aircraft simulations because the way you engage, dissengage, arm, lateral, vertical, ap1, ap2, ap3 etc is WAYYY different ma

This has probably been covered so many times before but - as an outsider looking in .... can I ask a very respectful and non-inflammatory question here?   Does the XP GUI have to be so complicated?

You can actually arm A/T on the gate on the 300 as well if you do not make any mistake that will lead A/T going into TOGA thrust. But due to the number of reasons that will lead A/T going into TOGA mode such us pressing on the ground N1, SPEED, VNAV... the 300 procedures does not allow arming it until you are entering the runway. it is simply too risky for safety, ground personnel, ground vehicles, etc.

As said this is not a NGX or a 777 you takeoff lnav, vnav armed on the ground already. This is a different bird extremely modeled to the real thing.

note: i am not saying some features are not still on the roadmap/fine tuned.

Sounds like you're searching the airport gateway, which are just the default airports. I suggest you use this site to search for airports.

There's nothing wrong with checking the Gateway in one's search for airports - it's significantly more up to date than the link you've given, especially since it hosts all of the airports that are uploaded between releases. It's also easy to tell at a glance whether the scenery is still 2D, or whether it's been improved with 3D scenery.

Agreed, but the link I gave includes custom sceneries as well. If you just want to check whether the airport is 2D or 3D, the Gateway is definitely the better choice.

Is there a way to make that 747 that likes to follow me around at my tiny home airport to go away? It's kinda sweet that it stands infront of my aircraft (waiting for me to move out of it's way, or just have some company - I dont know), but I think it will get old pretty fast ;)

go to aircraft -> aircraft & situations -> other aircraft tab and set number of aircraft to 1 (just you)
