Best practices for reducing VAS usage

Featured Replies

That's quite extreme. I think I'd rather stop simming if that was the only option I had. I was marginally in agreement until the 'no addon airports' bit. What's the point then? You run a tough regime Bob :)

I like flying. I do that in the sky not at airports.

  • Well, I do hear the VAS usage is extremely low if you don't play at all.

RIMSHOT! lol

Bob made a good point though, we use flight sims to fly, BUT at the same time, there are a lot of folks out there, myself included, who want to experience the whole gambit of flight ops, from start to finish (ex. GSX, Radar Contact), so with that said, having a good detailed airport to fly from and to is desired.  It's a double-edged sword I'm afraid.  We want all the realism we can cram into the sim to make it as close to real life as possible, but we also don't want the OOMs, crashes and bad performance.  Striking that perfect balance seems to take the most work for simming.

Agree that is the trick.   I don't disagree with Bob either really - I understand his point. I don't have to like it though.  :P
