[28JUN16] PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for X-Plane Updates & Mac Release News

Recommended Posts

Captains,

A few moments ago we made live the MacOS compatible version of the PMDG DC-6 Cloudmaster for X-Plane and simultaneously dropped an update to the Windows compatible version so as to bring them both to the most current cycle:  v1.11.0045.

The MacOS version is available for sale immediately- and the Windows updated version can be had by simply accessing your account in our eCommerce system, navigating to your purchase history and redownloading from there...  Once you have the updated installer, simply run it over top of your existing installation and you will be all set to go with the very latest version of the DC-6!

The change list for the DC-6 going all the way back to initial release follows:

- Engine fire correctly causes engine damage
- Fire warning lights turn off when fire extinguishes
- Increased concentration of CO2 to slightly increase effectiveness as a suppressant
- ADF/RMI needle motion is smooth rather than sudden
- Cold&dark behavior of certain instruments is corrected

- Inactive transponder won't force off-side transponder to deactivate
- Carburetor damage no longer occurs when engine not running, more forgiving of high-OAT climates
- Cabin heater core temp is cooler and POH-compliant

DOCUMENTATION
- Tutorial revised with feedback from users
- Graphical livery installation instructions in Pilot Intro

SCENARIOS
- Autopilot logic corrections

I'm not really ready for the X-Plane switch yet but the day this thing drops for FSX I'm going to be on it.

I spend most of my time in modern airliners and have a blast doing so, and I'm looking forward to the 747v3 as much as anyone, but sometimes it's nice to break away from hitting VNAV and auto-step-climb before bed, turning off the center fuel pumps in the morning, and landing after work. I'm looking forward to futzing around with those radial engines, and trying to find Guam in crappy weather in the middle of the night without using the GPS.

what's come of this as of August 27th?

nothing more than impatience.. it seems I'm more anxious for this (DC-6) than I was for NGX a few years back..

Any updates would be more than appreciated...

Still a work in progress.... no news means no change in status.

Well I was going to ask about when we might see the aircraft for FSX, but now I feel bad!

Looking forward to this one, the DC-6 has such beautiful lines. Can't wait to see how PMDG recreates this aircraft (in a simulator that I use!).

Cheers,
