September 23, 20169 yr Since about two weeks ago, after I log into AVSIM the fourm pages black out as I scroll down. some times I'll be reading a post and this will happen on one page of the thread, but the other pages will be fine. It,s always the bottom of the page that blacks out and it scrolls jittery when i am reading one of the affected pages. AVSIM seems to be the only web site I have this issue so I was wondering if I have a virus or if anyone else is having this problem? Vic green
September 23, 20169 yr This is the first time I have heard about this issue Vic. Do you have several Tabs in your browser open at the same time (I have 6 sites open at the same time). Sometimes the flash player for your browser will act up in a Tab that uses it and takes up a lot of resources. We do not use Adobe Flash. Horrible program!! You do not need it for most sites and it is a Source of evil people using it to send malware/viruses. They are constantly updating as soon as another vulnerability occurs. When I had it installed, I could barely surf within AVSIM. When it happens again, do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and go into your Task Manager and see what processes are running and what's taking up all of your resources. Sometimes, just restarting your browser will fix things. Other than that, I know of no problems with AVSIM. It is running faster than ever! September 23, 20169 yr I have noticed exactly what Vic is describing....and on two different PCs. It is usually corrected if I refresh the page. It's like the bottom half of the thread page fails to load first time, except that the empty area is black rather than white. September 23, 20169 yr Sorry to hear some of you are having issues with some AVSIM pages failing to load. If we can replicate the problem we'll look for a solution. AVSIM loads awfully fast for me. I did a search for 'bottom of forum pages do not load' and this is an issue with some browsers. Some fixed it by choosing a new theme for their browser. I think this is a problem with your browser (an add-on or setting) otherwise, seems logical to me that this would be happening to everyone visiting AVSIM if it was AVSIM's fault. September 24, 20169 yr Author Thank you Jim. I switched from Firefox 32 bit to reading Avsim on Microsoft Edge and changed my password for good measure and haven't noticed the issue yet. Not getting my daily AVSIM fix would be worse then giving up coffee. Vic Green. Vic green

September 24, 20169 yr Not getting my daily AVSIM fix would be worse then giving up coffee. Thanks for those comments Vic. I switched to Firefox a long time ago when our late owner, Tom, said that's all he used as I was having issues with Internet Explorer in Windows 7. If you ever reinstall Firefox, install the 64 bit version if you have a 64 bit Windows 10. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
