Just before termination the log recorded: &@($* state set ASSFinals edinburgh tower at com.intworkings.voxatc.AircraftStripImpl.SetState(AircraftStripState &@($*) at com.intworkings.voxatc.ASSILSApproach.Moved(Position posIn) at com.intworkings.voxatc.ATSO.CheckMovements() at com.intworkings.voxatc.ATSO.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.TerminalATSO.Run() at com.intworkings.voxatc.ATSOWorker.ActiveRun() at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(Object state) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart() I believe that shows that Vox was under the impression that it thought you were communicating with Edinburgh Tower. However, if it wasn't letting you change freq, there may be an issue there. Unfortunately it would have been useful if there had been more of a log after the content listed above... What a/c were you flying then? Could you try the same approach with a different aircraft and see whether you have the same problem? May 2, 20179 yr Thanks for helping. Of course "I" did not repeatedly try to acknowledge the frequency change..that was my automatic copilot who never did actually change it! I terminated the flights when the glitch happened as I didn't want to waste any more time on them. When it happens again I will persevere to touch down, but the first time it happened I did continue and atc just kept repeating the frequency change request until landing, if I remember correctly, then I aborted the flight. Good point about the aircraft. For local flights I use the Realair Beech turbine and it occurred to me perhaps something in it could be preventing the copilot retuning to tower frequency, but why he behaves for the rest of the flight defeats me. I will use one of basic P3d default aircraft next time just to see if that changes things. Thanks again. John Anderson

Great, if you can recreate the same issue with a default a/c I think it will be worth reporting to Tegwyn. Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
May 3, 20179 yr Exactly same problem here with FSLabs A320. Will try with pmdg ngx soon. I reported the issue on the website already.
May 3, 20179 yr So today I tried to set up a VFR flight in Puerto Rico, from Ponce Puerto Rico (TJPS), to Aguadilla Puerto Rico (TJBQ). Aguadilla is the default airport, but Ponce is a freeware by PhotoRico, which I must say that for a freeware, looks nice. When I started VoxATC, I had traffic, I had ATC talking to traffic, and even gave me the airport information on wind direction and runway in use. However, it asked me to switch frequency, and nothing. I took off just to see what would happen, and I was able to get ATC flight following after takeoff. I was using Flight1 Beechcraft King Air 200. As I started to approach Aguadilla, I was able to get off flight following, but I wasn't able to get instruction to communicate with my arrival airport. Glitch or human error? Johnny Rosario
May 3, 20179 yr I noticed that the Procedure Pronunciation Editor is not working in 7.3. Is it because it's a beta and not fully functional, or a bug? Johnny Rosario

I tried the same flight using the default Mooney Bravo and unfortunately exactly the same thing happened: after establishing on ils, asked to contact tower but copilot does not tune the radio although he continually acknowledges the frequency change request, so no contact is made, end of vox involvement. Flight fine up to that point. Pity. John Anderson

At the point you say it asked you to switch frequency, was it "Utopia Radio" that you were told to switch to? That would be to open your VFR flightplan. If it was "Utopia Radio", then that's the same problem I'm having. Can you try it again, just to confirm? Also, you say you were never given any instruction to communicate with your arrival airport. Again, I'm having the exact same issue. I can NEVER get any prompting to contact the destination, as was the case with v6. After I'm told to "Report airfield in sight", nothing at all from vox. Can't find any workaround to this one. May 3, 20179 yr My admin computer is having a fit at the moment but I will sent the log as soon as I can sort it out. I did continue to touchdown. It seems only a few people are reporting this problem so it is not a general fault. John Anderson

May 3, 20179 yr Thanks for confirming, Johnny. Funny, but any other FSS, other than Utopia, works fine. Yes, you can get around opening your VFR flightplan, as you've discovered, but the other problem with no way to contact the destination airport is a deal-breaker. May 3, 20179 yr Well, perhaps is something they can look into, since it's still officially in beta. Johnny Rosario
May 3, 20179 yr I still havent ever encountered utopia radio! Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS
May 3, 20179 yr Johnny, we can always have hope! I have reported the issues previously, but no joy yet. Kevin, you only would be prompted to contact an FSS to open/close a VFR flightplan. This happens after contacting unicom for a field advisory, and then again after landing. As for Utopia Radio, that is the name of the FSS if the airport afcad doesn't include an FSS frequency. It's a generic name much like oceanic center. Now, why all other FSS names work fine except for Utopia is the mystery.
