I gave up trying for a while. Jumped in the NGX for a flip from EGLL to LSGG instead. Way more fun watching the VAS than watching those green bars do nothing on the REX download manager. ;-)

Something is wrong with file rexww6.cab . I can download all other files quite fast, but that file is always only partially downloaded with the Rex dowload manager, and it is impossible to download it manually (connection time out).

 

The Rex download manager is rather strange. When I cancelled the dowload after waiting for 1.5 hours while the last file hang at 86%, all downloaded files got deleted. I thought download managers are there so that stuff that is already on your PC is not lost :|

According to what I downloaded, Cab 1 to 6 are 512,000 kb. Cab 7 is 99,297 kb

paul have you bought any rex products from other stores

so you can get 20% off

never have bought directly from rex

usually FSS

 

It must have recognised my email address as I automatically got the 20% discount even though 1st time buying from REX store

My friend got impatient and ended up buying it again from the FSS and downloaded an installed fine.

 

I'm still not having any luck with getting it direct from REX (waited a few hours and tried again) but certainly not going to give them my money twice :-)

 

As some have said it's pretty frustrating but will wait now until I hear that the problems are fixed.

 

As some one who has had over 40+ years in IT (and my own IT company) I know it doesn't have to be like this for deploying software (even under peak loads).

 

Hopefully REX get their deployment issues sorted out before the next big release as it's a shame their excellent software is being let down by deployment.

Success here. After many trials I was able to obtain a connection to download rexww06.cab. It was very slow at first and the connection broke down a few times, but all of a sudden it went very fast. Mayb Rex has fixed the problem. If so, thank you

Agreed.  In today's world of Cloud distribution/deployment, there really is no excuse for a little to no bandwidth launch.

"Uh oh, it appears that the problem at some airports has been confirmed by a user over on the REX forum. There are a number of large airports dotted around the world that are high detail (see here http://www.simtours....ailairports.php). It looks like the REX product will install jetways and vehicles there but not change the terminal buildings. Not happy!"

It is released now so let's start hearing feedback good and bad. I am struggling to download at the moment so will be waiting patiently for the rush to subside a little on the REX servers.

Here are solutions we recommend if you purchased from the REX Store:

 

1.) If you are using the REX File Transfer Manager tool to download, start it again and under the "Download Type" option select the 2nd option "Use direct download links to download files".  This will provide individual links to download.  You can use your download manager built within your browser to control it at this time.

 

2.) If option #1 doesn't work on the bottom of the REX File Transfer/Support Manager is a link to "Submit Support Ticket".  Click that link, fill out the form, and submit it.  This will automatically generate a support ticket within our system and we directly contact you with another solution."

Still trying to download using the REX download manager having bought at the REX Store. Been trying for 5 hours now and getting nowhere, managed to get just one small cab file downloaded on a 100mb line. Getting a little frustrated now.

Good to see you dropping in to help out customers but while you're here can you please comment on the issue that's been found with the high detail default airports. I bought the product in good faith but am extremely disappointed to find that there's a long list of major airports that wont be improved. It's no good having faboulous hi res jetways sticking out of low res default buildings. At the moment I'm feeling like I've been hoodwinked into buying this and wouldn't have if I'd known of its limitations in advance.

Problem is now I and a number of others seem to have blown all our activations trying to download. When put my activation number into the download manager it says unable to activate. I have filed a ticket but there was no confirmation that this had been received, either on the download manager screen or by email notification

 

The activation has been removed so you should be fine there.  We are addressing the support tickets as fast as possible.
