Weather radar

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have the PMDG 777-200 pack with the 300 extention, and REX essentials with override. I am looking to use it for the weather radar but I cant find anything and I can only find that i need ASN. Can i use Essentials or do i have to buy ASN?

thanks

Yes, you have to buy Active Sky for WX.

But AS is an absolute awesome tool, I dont fly without it.

What is written in the PMDG Manual is true. If it says Active Sky is needed, it is needed. It never mentioned anything about REX Essentials and WXR.

The manual talks, Active sky Next, if I buy Active Sky 2016 will work too?

The manual was written before AS16 was released. As jimburke says it works with the 777.

Active Sky Next and Active Sky 2016 are the only weather engines that the PMDG 777 and the 737NGX weather radars work on. This is because from what I understood ASN and AS2016 place clouds individually and identify if a cloud is precipitating. ASN also provides the tools to develop a proper and accurate weather radar for FSX.
