December 20, 20169 yr Hey guys, Something not mentioned during the Saturday flight (December 17th). On that day in 1903 the Wright Brothers made the first flight in a heavier-than-air powered aircraft. On that day in 1935 the Douglas DC-3 made it's first flight (Yahoo!) and.... just a little tidbit - On that day in 1965 the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter made its first flight. How in the world did we forget these facts? (specially #1 & #2) Gotta lay off the post flight sauce! Once again THANKS MIKE! for the extraordinary plan, planning & scenery finds! For this flight I thought I would try out the recorder function in JoinFS to use in the PIREP. While cool to watch it has some bugs, mostly in the sound department. The engine sounds are fixed, not modulating with each pilot's power setting. Tried all sorts of workarounds and nothing worked any differently. Bummer. This time all the screenshots (preceded with a * in the title) are included in the video. Actual videos made from the JoinFS recorder function are at 0:00, 1:00, 6:21, 12:10 & 13:28. December 20, 20169 yr Thanks guys! Thinking about recording our next flight from start to finish for a PIREP. (as long as the comp doesn't lock or BSOD, so far, so good ) It will make it worlds easier. Just wish the recording will record the transmitted nickname rather than the non-substituted original ATC ID # as it does now. (makes it confusing on who's - who, specially after a sub) Going to post today at FSJoin w/ our squawk list / ideas, of course, in a courteous, thankful, manner. A 3 hour recording with 8 flyers is not bad at all! The *.jfs file should be around 150 KBs - sweet! Edit - Forgot to carry the one... 150MB (850KB/MIN) Not so sweet but doable.
