No stars in the night sky in XP11

Featured Replies

Hi there, XP11 beta 3 here.

The night sky is way darker than XP10, and I can see no stars at all. Are you also experiencing the same?

Yes, moon and stars are AWOL in all betas so far. Turn off HDR and they show up. The very least priority for LR, unfortunately for the aesthetically inclined customer.

Got it, thanks.

I really hope LR will address that with HDR on. Night start navigation is still old school flying as well.

Here some illustrative shots.

X Plane final release still has no stars in the night sky.

I wonder if a simple lua script could be written to bump the intensity of the stars/moon? Is there a dataref for it?

At first, I found it odd that people were reporting that the sun, moon and stars weren't present, so I hearkened back to my recent flights, with HDR on, and I indeed had a bright sun, bright moon and stars (even planets, or maybe just really bright stars).

Yes, there are three datarefs (art controls) you can play with:

stars/gain_hdr

moon/gain_hdr

moon/glow_hdr
