Tips for better fps?

Featured Replies

Hi all!

I love the 737 NGX but I really should want some more fps.

I already use the low res model and textures and have the autogen turned down to sparse.

Maybe one of you have some tips to get it running with a couple more fps??

Thanks!

Hi Ray,

First, please add your full name to your posts as per forum rules.

Regarding your question, it would really help the folks around here to know what kind of system you are running, which simulator, etc. Without any of that information it becomes hard to come up with any advise.

What are your current FPS (locked) at?

Using FSX or P3D (which version)?

You've already followed all of the recommendations in the PMDG Introduction manual? If not, you need to start there; also, find out what programs are running in the background (try Alt-Control-Del to bring up the Task Manager). But, yes, more info on your CPU etc.

I have P3D and FSX. Now using FSX because P3D was stuttering like crazy. Can't solve  this

Secret to P3D is to lock the frame rate to 20.  I bet you were getting the stutters when there is an overcast.  This setting eliminates that problem.

After the last update and some changed settings it runs a lot better.

So I'm back to P3D ;)

I have fps at unlimited with vsync and triple buffering.

But I will try 20fps next time. It's kinda low fps but if it's smoother then I'll go for it. Thanks!
