Flight planning

Featured Replies

For FSX I have used (and loved) freeware version of the vRoute (for IFR flights) and Plan-G (for VFR flights) for flight planning. It looks like P3D is not able to read flight plans from the vRoute because of their format.

What would be best add on for P3D flight planning? (Freeware, I hope). Or is there a way to make the tools I mentioned above to work with p3d? I am using default ATC and do not have any fancy add ons.

Have you tried using simbrief? It allows you to import routes from various sources. As for the actual planning, If you want to do it by hand then simply go to a place like www.skybector.com and plan your route. Copy the output to https://www.simbrief.com and you can download the .fpl file.

http://www.fltplan.com is another real world resource that has free tools for you to use.

Plan-G fully supports P3D. :)

Head over there and request them if they are European routes.

You could then copy and paste the route string into simbrief. Feel free to pm me if you need any help flight planning. It's my expertise, especially transatlantic as I work for a long haul airline that flys over the pond

Thank you! All these options are all new for me. For sure I will try and ude them.

I use Skyvector to make Flight Planes for IFR and then just input the plan into Plan G which works perfectly with P3D.

You could also try http://onlineflightplanner.org/

That's free and produces fpls in loads of different formats. It is also permanently up to date as regards the airac cycles.

Are those FSX .pln -files usable in P3D?

Little navmap, the best free flightplanner you can get!
