I have quite a few payware aircraft, the "JF Seneca" is one of 'em.It compares well with my other stuff, and is evidently a realistic flight file, my only gripe with it, is the AP is to difficult to see in the 2d panel, meaning I have to set it in the vc, but if you fly vc anyway, then no problemMy opinion, not quite up to "Dreamfleet/Carenado" standards.......but worth the money

I love it, if you choose to ignore high-end avionics it is one of the more accurate and best fun GA addons out there. One or two issues that I've posted in the Just Flight forums (complete with responses). BTW, I now see why you want to turn the turbocharging off. I imagine a you can do this easily with FSEdit (part of the FS SDK, downloadable from the MS site). I am flying the turbocharged Seneca III at the moment (well tryng to by the weather has different ideas).

AY,If its not too much trouble, could you please e-mail me a couple of screen shot of the 2D cockpit. They are very stingy with pictures of their aircraft. What kind of an addon aircraft vendor not post pictures of their aircraft. Most of their pictures are external and 2 VC shots. My e-mail addy is [email protected] do a print screen and paste it in Paint and save it as JPEG.I'd appreciate it very much.So you are doing your multi on the Seneca III? or do you already have the rating?I did my multi rating on the Seminole. I am doing my instrument on the Seneca I.Thanks.Manny

The Flying club seneca is ok.Better than the default baron but not as close to the real thing as I would like it to be.Not to good for IFR practice as it dosen't have an HSI.I only used it a couple of times because of no HSI and it just didn't feel wright to me.I have quite a few hours on the real thing so that's my view for what it's worth.Frank

Have you considered the FSD Seneca and then adding Reality-XP gauges?Event though the FSD Seneca is not the newest, it still flies very nicely.

Bert

I know where Frank is comming from, but just to explain to those who don't have a specific need to practice with an HSI, the lack of HSI does not reduce its IFR capability. An HSI does nothing more than a VOR, but a VOR is less intuitive and it is also slaved a slaved gyro not requiring resynching with the compass. The subsequent lack of an RMI means just a little mental adding and taking math is required to use the RBI effectively, but the functionality is still present. All said an done, the speeds and FM are pretty much on the money and can at least replicate the basic handling, something not even remotely possible with the default Baron. However, as usual with FS, anything near Vmc/Vsse/VTOSS is much too weak. It doesn't feel sterile and lifeless like most addons. The things I would really like to see are:* Agreed an HSI and RMI would be nice.* Deice boots, props and windshield.* Independant subscales for the two altimiters. However, I am relieved that they didn't just punch out the usual GNS530/Jetline/Garmin/Sandel unrealitically high end for most pilots style stuff. I like something represented similar to that which I can get my hands on and I like to use my noggin a bit too. My personal opinion is that FS is not so good at serious practice (IFR or otherwise) anyway, FS is a realistic and fun machine. See my other rants on the subject with the search tool if you give a #### :)

I have the FS Seneca V. I have not installed it on my current PC.The damage simulation in that aircraft gave me some grief. The engine constantly failed and when I go to the config manager to reset it, it never took effect.I got a couple of e-mail around that to fix it.. but I forget where I put it. I may try installing it again. and give that a shot.BTW. Yesterday I bought the Seneca II. I paid for it.. and it said to expect an e-mail. But I never got the e-mail. Hmmmm... AOL is blocking "Just Flight" I think. I tried registering in their forum and I did not receive that e-mail either. I looked into the SPAM folder of AOL and its not their either. I don't know how to contact "Just Flight"And they don't have an e-mail addy in their website.. they have a snail mail address.Oh..well...

I agree that the FSD Seneca is a bit finicky (by design, I believe),but it handles nicely, and the new Reality-XP FLT gauges are crisp and totally smooth. For me, it transforms my older favorites..The Seneca is the only airplane in my hangar that has a compass that is miscalibrated by a couple of degrees... I assume it is meant to be this way... as real as it gets...

Bert

I've sent you an email with a Just Flight contact.

All right. I installed the Seneca II and flew it around.1. I like the rustic look of this plane.. thats how the seneca I, I fly looks like.2.Its too bad that for a payware they have used the default guages except for the ASI...which is correctly done (Its in mph). Maybe this is a candidate for using the reality-XP T-guages and get around the ugly default guages. 3. The sound from the outside seems right..but from the inside I am not so sure.4. It flies a little too nicely. The realy Seneca is a fairly nice to fly..but its not this easy.5. Engine out is not realistic at all.6. Can I use this for IFR practice? hmm... not sure yet. When I am on slow cruise and I reach the FAF, I have to drop the Gear for a nice 550FPM drop in the real seneca and this one seems to do that. But since this is a Seneca II (Turbo charged), the MP doesn't help. Maybe it works work for Seneca II.For a payware, they could have put in a little bit more effort.
