690B Discrepancy List

Recommended Posts

I also submitted a support ticket for the instrument lights situation.  Their first response was that there was a dimmer knob on the overhead.  I explained it carefully (i.e. you either get just a couple main panel instruments lit with the pilot "INSTR" switch overhead, OR you have to use the dome/map light switch and get every interior light the airplane has in order to get the rest of the instruments lit).  Their response to this was to try the "L" key.

They are now asking me to send pictures of the problem (I will when I get home tonight).

..........Don't know what to make of these responses.  Is this a way of saying there will be no more fixes, as has been suggested here already ?

I read on a post that they were working on a SP2, and if enough folks send in a support tickets for their VC lighting maybe they will address it. They indicated to me they had limited "elements" they could use so they had to compromise, not sure what they meant by that, some of their other aircraft have nicer VC lighting?

Eh, don't make too much of it.  It's rare that they would ask for more info, beyond sending a generic/dismissive response.  I send them so many tickets, they don't even bother giving me the generic reply any more.  :laugh:  They have always been incredibly arbitrary in what they decide to fix, and sometimes break more things in the process.  They have never issued more than 2 patches, except for the Phenom 300...and that aircraft still has the awfully-broken G1000 Navigraph add-on.

In this case, I suppose this means they may actually work on it.  I have reported the exact issue you mentioned.  I don't know why they would put three instruments on a separate dimmer switch...what a waste of a dimmer switch.  After v1.1, I reported to them that the backlight for the co-pilot's HSI was stuck on in some models (i.e. RXP530 lite), but stuck OFF in other ones (i.e. RXP530 full).

My pitot heat doesn't seem to function. It had been on for the entire flight, and I only briefly encountered light icing conditions when the ASI went to zero repeatedly... Weird. Anyone else see this in their a/c?

(was flying w/ activesky)

Yep...I have (or had) the same issue.  You installed V1.2, right?  I haven't flown in any really crappy weather with this bird since around the time of the initial release, but I saw it back then and reported it.

I'm not sure whether it's an ActiveSky-specfic effect or generic FSX icing triggered by the conditions.  I should have all icing effects disabled in AS and in FSUIPC...on the other hand I've only ever seen the issue with this add-on.  I'd have to do some more investigating with my own set-up to say for sure.

It's good to know that I'm not the only one. I confess that my issue was with the release version because I am swamped with end of summer work and I haven't been able to fly to download the new version. I hope to get to fly in the next 2 weeks and will try to find the same conditions. I encountered my icing in thunderstorms, so those should be "findable" with AS whenever.

You have reported this to carenado?  if this bugs are true the plane have no go items for flight.

Yes, we should all keep those support tickets open/report issues. Carenado tend to stop fixing things after a month or two (sometimes 2-3 wks) as the demand for fixes goes down.... :-)

Hi everyone,

here is another bug

Prop sync annunciatior light is always lit when prop sync is selected ON. The annunciator light should be ON only when :

1) Prop sync is ON

And

2) gear is down and locked

Fsx steam, Windows 7 64bits.

Likely an easy fix.  I'll try and get to it tonight if somebody doesn't beat me to it.

Here is the updated file to fix the prop sync discrepancy.

1)  Open a blank text document and name it "Gauge_ANUM_690B_1.xml"  Make sure the suffix .txt is not in the name.

2)  Paste the following into the new xml document

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<SimBase.Document
        Type="AceXML"
        version="1,0"

3)  Open the panel folder and create a new folder within named "GAUGE_690B"

4) Place the new file "Gauge_Anum_690B_1.xml" in the GAUGE_690B folder.

5) Open the panel.cfg file and replace the entry in [Vcockpit05] that says "gauge00=GAUGE_690B!Gauge_Anum_690B, 0,6,1024,112" with "gauge00=GAUGE_690B!Gauge_Anum_690B_1,       0,  6, 1024,112"

The prop sync light should work properly now.
