July 20, 20178 yr Hello everyone, I wanted to upgrade a few hardwares on my pc, i started with the cpu, from i5 16gb ddr3 to i7 7700k and 16gb ddr4 so i am currently runing on i7 7700k + gt 740 4gb +16gb ddr4 ram on win 10. altough no metter what i try in my settings, i can get to have a smooth flight. no more than 10 fps. is there Something im missing ? Thank you in advance EREK CAGRI KARTAL
July 20, 20178 yr Is the performance issue P3D specific or are you seeing issues with other applications as well? Did you reinstall OS and P3D after the upgrade? [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
July 20, 20178 yr It's the gt740 your running. You've been around for awhile so how do you not know this? July 20, 20178 yr I needed 2x 1070 superclocked gpus in SLI for good performance on an 7700 @4.6 Cheers bs AMD RYZEN 9 5900X 12 CORE CPU - ZOTAC RTX 3060Ti GPU - NZXT H510i ELITE CASE - EVO M.2 970 500GB DRIVE - 32GB XTREEM 4000 MEM - XPG GOLD 80+ 650 WATT PS - NZXT 280 HYBRID COOLER

I fly spanning the sim over 3 x 26" screens and 1 x 24" for moving maps etc etc and I only use 1 x GTX1070 and it flies very smoothly indeed with many sliders cranked well over to the right
July 20, 20178 yr Sure it is your GT740 ! Your graphic card is very weak vs your CPU. P3Dv4 requires a better gpu with more video ram on it. Mike Lab WIN10 / I7-6700K HT ON / GTX980 / 16 GB RAM / 3 x SAMSUNG EVO 1TB SSD / 1 X WD BLACK 2TB HDD / 32" 60hz Monitor @ 2560x1440 / P3Dv4.4 No AM, Locked to 59 FPS, VSync ON, Triple buffering enabled Process Lasso used to unload all other applications than P3D running on core 0
July 21, 20178 yr Correct new video card and a clean fresh installation slow and steady wins the race
July 21, 20178 yr Your gpu surely is the bottleneck here. Till the moment you are able to upgrade fly with low settings. The moment you have a 1080 Ti in your system you will be very surprised .... 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

Thank you in advance The CG is the problem as others have mentioned. The parts in your computer have to be somewhat homogenous. If you run a high end cpu with a low end graphic card, the card is going to drag the cpu down. Its like putting a ferrari engine in a smart. Its going to work sort of well in a straight line but comes a corner and you'll be kissing trees in no time. I'm suggesting you update your graphic card next, the ram can wait and will have much less impact on the overall performance.
July 24, 20178 yr Author Thank you everybody, im getting a gpu as soon as i can to see the changes. EREK CAGRI KARTAL
