I have an Alienware X51 computer purchased in 2012 that has an i7 chip with 3.4 GHz and FSX installed from the box, with many scenery add-ons. Last year I replaced the original GTX555 video card with a GTX1060, and could not be happier. I run almost everything maxed out except water (mid 2.0) and the sliders for AI planes, cars, and ships, and unlimited frames, any kind of weather, and get excellent, smooth performance everywhere except the most scenery-intensive areas such as the notorious Heatrhrow, etc. where the FPS drops to 15-20. Typically I see frame rates anywhere from 50 to 100 or more. Just my two and a half cents worth. So you're saying there's a chance. MSFS

What screen resolution are you using? I have a much more powerful system with a QHD monitor and can only dream of frame rates approaching 100! i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
