What are your opinions on Orbx NZ North and South and their new airport Whangarei? How is it on performance? And is Whangarei as good as it looks on screenshots? I'm considering to go all out and purchased both regions and the airport...

I have Orbx North and South. They are very good performance wise. I would also strongly recommend you purchase their airports for the South Island Queenstown and Milford Sound as well as Whangarei. Theu are excellent. Queensland has some challenging RNAV approaches. Milford sound is actually 3 airports and very beautiful.

Ok thanks, I will take your recommendation. But one question, do you also have California North and South? The reason I'm asking is that I have them both, but they are really detrimental to performance, no matter how reasonable the graphics settings etc... Are you running NZ North and South, with BASE and VECTOR?

Vector I think is pretty taxing on performance, so I don't use it.   Are you monitoring both CPU and GPU utilization so you can best know how to adjust sliders according to need?

It has been always a good advise to switch off any vector scenery when flying in ORBX FTX full fat regions because they already contain vector data. Though, I am not sure it is still good or necessary in P3Dv4 with good hardware.

Yes, I'm monitoring CPU and GPU usage from Task Manager, is there a better program that you could recommend? My settings: from medium to high... How can I disable Vector completely?

Uncheck them in the in-sim scenery library.  But the full fat regions have their own vector functions, which override Vector's data, so it would seem unnecessary to disable Vector.

Go for it, it's a great scenery good on performance for me. Add Milford Sound, it's a little jewel...At this time I love fly there with the Amphibie Milviz Beaver.

If you have P3Dv4, with the sim running, go in the World menu then open Scenery Library. Just untick the 6 vectors scenery. Done.
