Important windows update: Nvidia display driver 388.13???

Featured Replies

This is the first time I have ever received an important driver update on my windows 7 PC.  The update text is "Nvidia display-10/23/2017 12:00.00AM-23.21.13.8813." I have never seen this before! I did a google search and it looks like its for Windows 10, but I am not sure. I was able to hide the update but not sure if it will come back again.  I don't want to be forced to update a display driver!

Can anyone explain this further and advise?

Thanks for your help!

I received that notice last month as well.  There's no way I'll ever let an OS decide that a driver update should occur... that should be up to the computer owner (as a Win 7 user it's easy for me to say that  ).

I've got Win10 and just let it do what ever it wants to do.

It made the driver change to .13 for me about a month ago and it's been OK.  If I don't like it I will change it.  I normally keep the most recent driver installed and I let NVidia do the installing.

My current Nvidia driver is version 388.59, am I missing something with version .13 notification - isn't this an outdated release?

I’m not a fan of .59 myself, may revert back to .13 or one of the versions in between.  .59 has caused some AA problems for me it seems.
