May 6, 200620 yr Im just about to re-install these after a long break, I felt the need for a little bit of a change from the Boeings. Now, I know they are not going to be up to the quality of the recent releases, but I would like to know are there any 'unofficial' updates or fixes available? if so where, and are they any good?cheers Alaister Kay
May 6, 200620 yr Hi Alister,All the updates, if any, should be included in the autoinstallers when you install again from the PSS site. The additional files worth mentioning, are the sideviews by Edward Cox, if you use the model from IFDG.http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=64749http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=66304Also, the iFDG merge with the PSS panel by JM Morillo, http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=61929 http://www.scandicair.com/images/sa_banner.gifI :-erks on DELL,...And that is an understatement. :-hahMy specs are:Dell Dimension 4600 P4/2.8 at 3.0 Ghz1024 Mb DDR333 Dual channel memory (2x256,1x512)256 Mb ATI Radeon X850 Pro ViVo, flashed to a X850 XT PE. May 7, 200620 yr Speaking of Airbus, Wilco/Feelthere has anounced a whole new line of 'busses are in development, from the 318 to the 340. It will be so nice to have a quality Airbus for FS. May 7, 200620 yr Overland's latest has a great looking A319/320 included in their package. The Airbus VCs are the best looking of any aircraft yet released for Flight Simulator depicting the A320 series. You don't get an MCDU but you do get a fully clickable Virtual Flight Deck... To me it's just as much fun as the PSS version plus there's no switching back and fourth between the 2D panel. :-)
May 7, 200620 yr Flying an Airbus without an MCDU strikes me as being completely pointless. But then I've always preferred the planning and flight management aspects rather than looking at the outside model or using a VC.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual [email protected]http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
May 7, 200620 yr There are a several user edits (including panel modifications) on the PSS site, and a lot of user repaints. Go to Support -> User Edits -> Airbus Pro. There is also an excel fuel planner on the Speedbirdonline site (link above), and you can install one of the groundhandling gauges available here on Avsim, or even the PSS Airbus pushback gauge that appeared in the library a couple of days ago.Enjoy the PSS A320. It may not now be 'state of the art', but it's still an excellent FS aircraft, and I think will continue to be the best A320 for FS, at least until the new offerings from PMDG and Wilco/feelthere arrive. As I mentioned on another thread recently, it's the oldest aircraft in my hangar that I still use regularly.Boogie.
May 7, 200620 yr The PSS buses are still pretty good - it's a shame the same can't be said about their latest Boeing Scott
May 7, 200620 yr Rob if we want to get into complex systems like the A320's MCDU, I think flying an Airbus without FBW simulated is pointless. There's nothing out there currently (PSS included) that truly simulates the A320 series of Airbuses (A330/340 included). We've never seen a real Airbus simulation in Flight Simulator... So let these guys have fun for now as there's nothing else better on the market. Once Feelthere and PMDG finally bring their offerings to the table we'll finally see how pointless flying the PSS Airbus really was. I for one like the Overland offering. It'll hold me over until we see the true hardcore models sometime next year... :-) FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 7, 200620 yr PSS's A320 never worked for me in FS2k4 so Overland is my only A320 option for now... :-( FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 7, 200620 yr Some people can't resist 'having a dig'. I thought this thread was about the A32x. :-roll Boogie.
May 7, 200620 yr My comment wasn't ment as a 'dig' but rather a fact...For the record I own and like very much the PSS 777... :-) FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
May 7, 200620 yr Dillon - I wasn't referring to your comment about not being able to use the A320 in FS9, but to the comment by 'qnh', which was not a fact but an opinion. Not sure why some people can't get the A320 to work with FS9. Works fine for me.As to your other post, I agree that an Airbus with Alpha Floor Protection etc modelled would be great, and hopefully this will be included in the upcoming busses, but I don't agree that flying the PSS A320 is pointless - again, that is not a fact, but another opinion. :-) Boogie.
May 24, 200620 yr Their latest Boeing is not only nice but the best 777 available. Of the "Modern Jet Airliner Simulations" it ranks fourth in my book after the Level D 767, and PMDG 747/737. I would say that is good company.Regards, Carlos
May 24, 200620 yr PMDG 737 over the PSS 777? The 737 is going on 3 years old. the 777 is new. That says a lot for PMDG and not much for PSS. PSS I hope you read these.
May 24, 200620 yr You might get a copy of FSPANEL Studio and merge the PSS files with the overland vc to get yourself a nice hybrid. For now, the PSS systems are all we've got, and I rather like the VC because it's the only way I can fly from the rightseat in an A320.If you need modifications, Ed's stuff is really nice (like the others said).enjoy
