Your computer has run out of available memory

Featured Replies

Hello: I just started getting this error message when I start p3d v4.1  I never got it before no matter how many background programs I had running.

I have 16 gig system memory and a 6 gig video card. It seems to be related to the prepar3d.cfg file. If I delete it, then I can start in default settings. I can then add settings, or load a profile and run fine.

I also checked system memory when it displays the error message and always have 8-12 gig available.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A reboot helps by the way, but the main fix is starting with a clean .cfg file.

I also have no tweaks or manual changes in the file ever.

Have you checked if your installed RAM memory is working well?.

Are you running windows with a disabled paging file? settings/system/advanced/virtual memory

It could be the GPU Video Ram, maybe you have some setting that is driving the GPU too far beyond its limits.

Check this. Some older, misguided "tweak" guides would have you disable this, crippling performance and stability of the system. Also, make sure there's actually enough free space on the drive where the paging file is located.

Pagefile for sure, had exactly the same problem when using the TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP at 10.

Put your pagefile size half the size of your ram and problem solved!

Check to see if you are using the  TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=  tweak.

If it's at there and set to =8 , 9 or 10 it could be exhausting your VRAM on the graphics card.

Tweak is not on, thanks. I checked to see if any odd program had installed it.

Right now, p3d is working fine as normal once again. I dont know what has changed? I guess I will keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you to everyone who replied.
