May 16, 200620 yr Hi to every body, some one knows what is the solution about crossing the poles in both Flight Simulators (8.0 & 9.0) that begins at 85
May 16, 200620 yr Welcome to the forum(s). There is no solution to this problem. You cannot fly over the poles with any version of MSFS.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. May 16, 200620 yr Moderator >Sorry but the poles are not modelled in FS9. Maybe in FSX.>>Regards, CarlosCarlos, what's up with the "Maybe in FSX?"Didn't Mike (tdragger) just state quite clearly that FSX will allow trans-polar flight? ;) Fr. May 16, 200620 yr With the amount of stuff that sails right over the tops of peoples heads here in these forums, I'll never have to go to barber shop again. Any time I want a haircut I'll just open up my browser. Jeff D. May 16, 200620 yr no, he hinted at it possibly becoming possible in a future version. But knowing what a teaser he is...
May 16, 200620 yr And "he" also "hinted" to it in screenshots and videos...ROFL. In fact it was one of the first myths squashed when FSX was first announced. Jeff D. May 16, 200620 yr Currently you can't fly over the poles. In an earlier version you could and flew around the world twice by doing so, once flying N the other flying S over the poles. First time I tried to do it navigating by compass. Was flying North, and north, and north until I ran out of fuel. Finally realized, that I'd been flying in a circle, trying to keep the compass pointed N... :-)
May 16, 200620 yr I know that's because actual FS world is just a "flat" world, not a spheric one. Please correct me if i'm wrong.
May 16, 200620 yr of course in the real world the earth isn't a perfect sphere either. The dimensions are pretty similar except there's no black hole at the poles :)

May 16, 200620 yr The question I have is: If the North Pole is modelled in FSX, will it have a barber pole, Santa's house, and a few flags up there?Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
