Should I get Windows 10 before installing ver 4.2?

If you are using Windows 7, stick with that. if you are using Windows 8/8.1, then consider Windows 10.

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

In general it is always better to update to the latest Windows version.

It's one of the best moments to update the OS. That or changing the main hardware.

I am running Windows Home Premium 64bit now. Is it worth upgrading to Windows 10? What would I gain in performance?

Bear in mind that Win7 Home Premium cannot use more than 16GB of RAM. I learned that after building a new PC with 32GB. Windows 10 Home will use up to 128GB.
