No gates available at this airport

Featured Replies

With Traffic Global on Xplane you can just turn into the gate and the traffic parked there will automatically vanish after a moment or two. Turning your head and looking at the aircraft you want to despawn for a couple of seconds before you turn works sometimes too. At first people thought disappearing aircraft were a bug, but it's not, it's a feature for situations like this. I think there is an option in the settings called "never block user aircraft" or something like that.

Cheers, Andy.

Pilot2ATC cannot reserve gates as it has no control over any of the Traffic Engines.

There used to be a facility, in Radar Contact I think (?), to reserve a gate which then operated by deleting any AI aircraft presumptious enough to appear there.

Obviously this does not have to be done all the time, only after the user has landed and given taxi instructions.

It does mean reading ground traffic data and matching the coordinates with those of that gate -- or at least within a few metres.

Hello Dave

FAOR and FALE and FALA add on airports in South Africa - I get a ‘sorry no Gates available’ when asking for Gate after landing. Also no taxi route when asking for Taxi clearance to runway

Running P3Dv5.2 with P2A running on a second PC using Wideview

Thanks Bill Gradwell

FAOR and FALE have no taxiways or gates in the default data.

FALA does have the data, but it is very out of date.  It has 2 runways, 06L and 06R, but the real airport and AIRAC data only have one runway 07.  So the you would not get proper instructions there either.

You can see what you have in TaxiMnt and try importing the taxi/gate data to all the airports using TaxiMnt.
