Track IR & EZDOK

Featured Replies

Have been thinking of getting TrackIR to use in P3Dv4.3. I do have EZDOK and was wondering if I would still need it once TrackIR is up and running seeing that I would be able to move/look  around the VC in various directions.

If I were to suffer motion sickness using TrackIR would it disappear after using it for a while? Some feedback from users much appreciated.

You will still want it so that you can snap views to gauges. I wouldn’t dream of flying without both.

I got Track IR years ago when I was flying mostly GA aircraft and then Helicopters with it. For that use it works well. Now I am flying only the NGX and Q400 98% of the time, and I find it rather annoying, so I just don't even turn it on anymore. When I want to look around I use the hat switch on my joystick.

EdDOK is not fully (!) compatible with 4.3 in the moment, an update is in the work

hi joaquim -  when i first started using the Track IR/EzDok combo, i did feel a tinge of motion sickness, but after about a hour or so of flying the motion problem went away.  Now i can't fly without the combo.

Thank you very much for all your replies. I think I will go for TrackIR  and give it a try.  Now i need to find a tutorial in YouTube for using the combo.

Just to add, even if you don't use the views at all, EZCA still gives you the motion effects. But most importantly (for me) is that because EZCA takes control of the TrackIR it allows you to move the 'home' position on the fly, so you can map it to controls. In my cockpit this allowed me to map the 'seat height' and forward/aft position to rotary knobs so I could adjust them while flying. You can't do this with just the native TrackIR software.
